Summary | 0000893: Player colors should be based on the current PlayPal.
Description | When determining how to color player sprites, the IWad palettes are assumed. When using custom palettes, the brightness levels can come out completely wrong. This feature would colorize the Player.ColorRange based on the loaded PlayPal rather than assuming Doom's greens (or whatever other game is currently being used.)
Steps To Reproduce | The attached file is simply a brightness-inverted version of the Doom palette. Load it and check your player sprite via chasecam - Your colors will appear as if the original palette is in use.

Is this the same problem that affects png files in skins? Cause a skin i've made comes out a much more faded colour than the png (true colour) files that im using |

I'd recommend to suggest this at the ZDoom forums first. |

(Apologies for the late reply.) I actually did quite a while back. I figured Zan was a worthwhile shot, as player colors are somewhat multiplayer-focussed. My reasoning being that whoever got to it first, it'd get done. ;) 'http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=30946 [^]' (Wow, that was almost a year ago?) |

This has been sitting on ZDoom for three years now so if and when ZDoom ever changes this we'll backport it eventually. I see no reason to keep this open though. |
This issue is already marked as resolved. If you feel that is not the case, please reopen it and explain why. |
