It's related to a bug (forgot the name) where a player is still classed as "alive" when the player is given health by a script or by cheating

I think you are not supposed to give health to a dead player and bet this won't work properly in ZDoom either. Can somebody make a small example wad that allows to test this in ZDoom and Skulltag?

This happens in Skulltag and GZDoom 323. It also happens in ZDoom 2.5.0, but it's fixed in ZDoom SVN build 3587.
Steps To Reproduce1. skulltag.exe -file giveinventory_health_01.wad +possession 1 +sv_nomonsters 1 +map map01
2. "addbot" in the console. Let the warm-up countdown end.
3. Pick up the hellstone.
4. Kill your player while having some momentum.

This was fixed in ZDoom revision 3438. Since it's intertwined with other ZDoom changes, I'll backport it later.
