Summary | 0003627: Site top banner ".DLatest" thinks I'm a Windows user with privacy.resistFingerprinting on Firefox 66+ as a GNU/Linux user
Description | 'https://browserleaks.com/javascript [^]' thinks I'm a "Linux x86_64" user (correct) according to the JavaScript navigator API with user-agent "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0" (correct, version string anonymized by config option). The User-Agent HTTP header sent to the server is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0". The top site banner still thinks I'm a Windows user, telling me "Get the latest version: 3.0 for Windows" to download Zandronum. This is likely because GNU/Linux was removed from Firefox 66's spoofed OS list or something, when privacy.resistFingerprinting option is enabled. ...which means the fingerprint resistance in Firefox is (now finally) working as intended, as of Firefox 66. 🙂
Steps To Reproduce | Firefox 66.0.1. Set privacy.resistFingerprint set to "true" in about:config. Use GNU/Linux (or non-Windows/non-Android). Visit the Zandronum website, anywhere.

TL;DR: "won't fix" to save your time, Blzut3. 😀 |

So what typically happens with privacy.resistFingerprinting disabled and sending a "Linux" HTTP user-agent is the HTTP server sends a page with a download button (".DLatest") to the latest Zandronum executable on said GNU/Linux arch, IIRC. |
