Summary | 0003056: There is no sound in zandronum 2.1 and new beta 3.0 on NixOs
Description | No sound. It fails on initsound. Error code returned 62.
Steps To Reproduce | Run game, no sound.
Additional Information | I thought for a moment this is problem of nix storing .so files in completly different place tho i used steam-run to skip this issue on 3.0. But than it turns out someone added your zandronum and doomseeker to nixos repository. What a friendly nix-community it is ;-) Also no sound there. We install it like this: nix-env -i doomseeker nix-env -i zandronum There is one more bug on zandronum 2.1 the default version BUT THIS BUG DOES NOT EXIST in beta 3.0, when you go to menu ( esc) you get 100% on cpu. Vide some loop just runs without sleep. It did not happen on debian but on nix in the 2.1 i happens. nixos-version 17.03.945.5acb454e2a (Gorilla) uname -a Linux huenix 4.9.22 #1-NixOS SMP Wed Apr 12 10:41:42 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux Treat this as a hint there is a problem there, this might not even be a bug. I might have something crucial missing in configuration.nix tho I doubt that. I will probably investigate it later. Just information for fellow buddies ;-)

Could not open MIDI out device I_InitSound: Initializing FMOD System::init returned error code 62 Sound init failed. Using nosound. After like changing mind 100 times. (too much binary in one place), The loop bug exists in 2.1 version but not in new beta. So I guess it can be ignored. *fellow nix buddies ******** Got it working (the sound) you can close it. ( install fluidsynth set it in zandro reboot, done ). |
