Summary | 0002889: BFG tracers use living player location rather than original corpse that fired the shot
Description | When the bfg ball detonates, tracers fire from the living player location even if they were killed after shooting the bfg and have respawned somewhere else. The bfg tracers should use the corpse of the player that shot the ball whether living or dead.

i just did some testing with 2 clients on doom2 + dosbox and zan 3.0 on map32, standing in the doorway to the south and shooting bfg balls to the northern door to where the cyberdemon would normally be in dosbox, i would have the 2nd client kill me from behind after i shot a bfg ball, when i respawn behind him, the tracers do not hit him, whereas they do in zan i also noticed that in dosbox, if i were to respawn after shooting the bfg ball and get in front of my corpse in time, my own tracers could actually kill me, whereas in zandro they dont target me at all |

Could you check also GZDoom 1.8.6's behavior online? |

with the same test i did above, results in gzdoom 1.8.6 are the same as zan |

I made a bug report for this on the zdoom forums, but it doesn't seem to be getting any attention. It seems insignificant for single player but quite important for multiplayer, so it's more important for zandronum than zdoom. I hope this can get fixed one way or the other. |
