Summary0001639: The view is not centered in demos when the recording player releases the mouse look button and lookspring is true.
DescriptionWhen you record demos through Doomseeker and then play them it will go out of sync after a while. Your aim lowers by time and at the end you are looking down in the ground while running. Also, if you record it as a spectator you will sometimes fly much lower down in the demo, than in the actual game.
Steps To Reproduce> Open Doomseeker.
> Press the big record button.
> Play offline, or join a server for a couple of minutes.
> Close the game/Disconnect.
> Press the big play button in Doomseeker.
> Choose your demo and press "play".

I have never heard of demo recording problems with 1.2 before. Can you post an example demo?

Regarding the problems with 2.0, can you go through the old builds and check when the problems started?

That's a rather long demo. Do you get these problems always, also with short demos?

I think it might be that in the demo, it doesn't center your aim when no longer pressing the mouselook button.
Actually, it seems like you can't use 'center view' att all.

I was right...
If you open a demo and type 'spectate' in the console, and then uses mouselook it wont center when you release the button. It doesn't even center the view if you press the center view button.

I think you are describing a completely different issue and actually something that is not even broken: If you use 'spectate' while watching a demo you enter the free spectate mode. This mode is supposed to behave as if you were present as spectator during the game.

Do any issues occur for you if you don't use the free spectate mode but just watch the demo?

If you are a spectator during a game you can still use center view, you can't on the demo. And so the "players" can't. When it doesn't center the view when i do it in game, it makes it look even further down in the ground.

I see. So it's just a problem when using lookspring in combination with mouslook assigned to a button.

The lookspring problems should be fixed now. Please test this in the upcoming beta build. This was not a 2.0 specific problem, but never worked properly.

If there are 2.0 specific demo problems please create a new ticket.

It works in the beta build.
