Summary | 0002581: "gametic>lowtic" error when joining own server
Description | Running Zandronum (v2.1.2)/Doomseeker (v1.0-150322?) Please see this thread for details: 'https://zandronum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6837 [^]'
Steps To Reproduce | This issue appears to only affect GNU/Linux-based operating systems. 1) Start a LAN server in Doomseeker 2) Start Zandronum and type "connect [LAN IP address]" 3) Disconnect from server 4) Attempt to reconnect (same as step 0000002) This results in "gametic>lowtic" error on client. Server output shows client connected and then immediately disconnected. Other clients are able to leave/join/rejoin with no issue.
Additional Information | This is with a vanilla (with no major setting/configuration changes post-install) install as per these instructions: 'http://zandronum.com/download#instubuntu [^]' The nature of the issue has changed since I first ran into it (operator error?). In prior cases, I could not connect to my own server at all. Now it works on initial connect, but not in subsequent reconnects. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

The error is stemming from ZDoom's multiplayer code which should be disabled but instead is running like a zombie in the background. I guess it chokes on something. |

Same issue here when connecting to LAN server from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Client) to Windows XP SP3 (server). Command connect [LAN IP address] give "gametic>lowtic" error on client. Game used to work fine before i upgraded to latest stable version. The solution was to start the server (on WinXP), join the server, then start the game on linux and only then join the server using the command. The command is being used as Zandronum doesn't see any local servers on linux. And since i updated the windows side (linux version was updated through one of system updates) to match the linux version, neither does it find any servers on windows. Before the last version update i could always see the local server running (on windows PC) inside the game. |

Does this still happen in 3.0? I just tested this locally and I had no problems to connect a Lubuntu 16.04 client to a Windows 10 server. |
This issue is already marked as resolved. If you feel that is not the case, please reopen it and explain why. |
