 It seems that Zdoom very recently added an option to disable the flash altogether. Would it be possible to extend this and give it a slider like blood_fade_scalar? If not, then the option is good enough as it is I suppose.

I don't see why this should have to be a ZDoom request since ZDoom doesn't even support blood_fade_scalar to begin with. It's a Skulltag/Zandronum feature to begin with.

 The fact that ZDoom added r_pickupflash suggests that it's worth enough asking pickup_fade_scalar (and blood_fade_scalar, why not) over there.
