Sorry but bump ?

Please don't add notes that don't contain new information. There are dozens of feature requests. Bumping yours won't increase its chances of being accepted. If you want to increase the chances, rally support for your request by finding more people who support it with the "Issue Community Support" system.

I'm sorry but I'm confused.
What if people do not mind the addition of this feature ?
This explains why it is being totally ignored.
As far as I know it's not game-breaking or anything; even noclip was implemented so just why not fly ?
Tell me if I should PM this instead but I see lots of people arguing the implementation of something in the notes which is what I'm doing here even though there is NO opponents.

So hey everyone, if you don't like this feature then state it because silence gives consent, right ?

There are far more requests than we have time to implement. So features that are demanded by many people have a higher chance of being implemented than features only very few people would ever use.

This doesn't really serve any purpose. Noclip allows spectators to traverse a map without getting stuck behind doors. Gravity as a spectator has very little use and definitely doesn't deserve to have time wasted on it.

But does it take THAT much time to implement ?
Come on.. It took just 1 revision to implement it (EDIT: noclip) and no bugs at all , nothing not even a complain..
I think you're exaggerating things here.
Oh and since we apparently don't have the time now, when the next zandronum version get released could we actually take time for this ?

Waste of a CVar, waste of code. If you really want it, I'd suggest making a patch for it.

What's this concept of "wasted" code ? How is a code "wasted" ?
Just because you do not need this feature doesn't mean it's shit like you probably think..
So adding a simple exception to grant the fly command when spectating is THAT much to add ? It would be a total waste and desastrous ? It's like just one line with a "if" statement (I don't know the sourcecode of zdoom but It should hardly be more than 5 lines and I'm being excessive in my opinion)..
I guess that is TOO much to ask..

"It's like just one line with a 'if' statement (I don't know the sourcecode of zdoom but It should hardly be more than 5 lines and I'm being excessive in my opinion).."

If you don't know and have no idea how to code, how can you even begin to say what it would entail, how many lines it would take, or how easy/hard it would be to implement?
If I remember correctly, Spectator mode was actually broken shortly after 1.2's release, so saying that it wouldn't cause any bugs is far-fetched at best and blind optimism at worst.

Continuing to push like this with an insistent "how hard can it be guys" and then a sarcastic "I guess it's too much to ask" is not going to change the developers' minds. In fact, it's quite likely to do the opposite and cement them into their current decision instead.

Instead of trying to berate others who aren't coding your feature for you, try explaining why this issue matters.
Why do you want it so much that you're wrestling with other people to get it implemented? Why is it so important that you want them to focus on it now now now instead of the (much more important) backporting of ZDoom 2.5.0 codebank? Why aren't you trying to rally support for it, instead of fighting with its detractors?
"Silence means consent" is not a valid argument, otherwise there would be more names in the bottom that gave their support without any comment. Silence means people don't care.

"If you don't know and have no idea how to code"
I do but not in c++. Well I mean I have a basic knowledge of it. I would be very happy to learn to code for zandronum and do this myself and also just how projects and visual studio works in fact.

""Silence means consent" is not a valid argument"
"Silence means people don't care."
I did say that but since it changed nothing I just wanted to make people react because to be honest with you here getting ignored is far worse than flat out rejection. At least for me (and what I experienced in life and blablablastuff)

"Spectator mode was actually broken shortly after 1.2's release"
I did not know this and I'm sorry..

I do get it that the bugs reports are important to fix and stuff but I don't know what to think of it.
I mean look at that bug report I made (id=1662) it seems that no one cares at all. I mean what is the problem with it ? Is it too hard to reproduce the bug ? I was able to do it myself today. But I guess this should be discussed on the ticket itself but I fear people would accuse me to bump for no reason and to again get ignored.
What I'm trying to say is that I don't understand how it could be that important if it's only treated because of its popularity.

And really that feature would have never been implemented if I would let it be ignored and it's the same here. What is the difference ?

"Continuing to push like this with an insistent "how hard can it be guys" and then a sarcastic "I guess it's too much to ask" is not going to change the developers' minds. In fact, it's quite likely to do the opposite and cement them into their current decision instead."
I already know all of that and again it was just to get attention.

Now why I want that implemented is because some mods online require you to spectate/wait a lot and I tend to get bored so I just wish I could walk around a map. I would be able to get much more immersion on the current game (take wdi here for an exemple). It would also be much easier for me to follow certain people unlike when I fly around them especially when there is very small room.

I fear you have a very wrong impression on how much time we can spend on working with the code. What do you expect to happen? I usually can only work on a handful of issues per week and there are four pages full of bug reports that are still flagged as new. That being said it should be pretty obvious that it could take quite some time till an issue is being worked on. Actually, this bug ticket is quite active: If you see a developer asking questions in a ticket you can be sure that we are looking into the issue.

It consumes memory which could be used for something else.

You're more likely to get your suggestion implemented if you code it yourself.

visual studio

OH GOD! HIDEOUS!!!

If an issue has lots of support, it means more people are getting satisfaction from addressing the issue.

I just wish I could walk around a map.

Why walk when you can fly?

You can just stay on the ground too you know.

"You can just stay on the ground too you know."
A.K.A disabling fly. If I want to stay on the ground while flying I would have to look down and that is terribly annoying not to mention the software users.
Just take wdi as an example again.
When I say more immersion on the current game I mean imagine that some innocents started to run and I could just follow them. And again there is this following point. If I follow the murderer in the corridors as a spectator I'm going to have a bad time doing so.
And before you tell me that I can coop spy, allowing me to have my own point of view is very usefull as I can see the whole scene.

Or you could hold down the Fly Down key...

That's kinda annoying too.
Not only i'll have to constently press it but I'll have to make a new key binding which I never use.
Anyways this won't get in anytime I'm sorry for wasting everyone's time.. (this is not sarcasm)

Wtf? Why are so many people agains't it? I mean, it wouln't make Zandro any bad. Okay this thing may sound useless but it's not as if a dev would waste big times at it, heh.

I like the way Odamex did with that.

I'm just curious, like on survival maps when you join a server an there's someone playing, so if you press the jump button the spectator would jump AND it would popup that join game all the time you press the jump button right? or not?

IDk about this feature, I don't know any game where the spectators could jump/walk as a normal player...
But, if you fixed that (the jump code),then, it will be ok.

Why don't you just give the player the option to fly or run along the ground while spectating?
