Description | Right now, the COOP/Team info display is a bit messy and takes a lot of screen space, especially if you're using a large text scale (ie. 320x200), or have a server full of over 16 players. It's also all over the place (3 lines per player, takes up both sides of the screen if more than 2 players on a team, etc) I'm suggesting a more compact display, using truetype fonts be added. It would have it's own scaling CVar, and would be compatible with Widescreen displays. The idea of how it would look like, is based on Quake 3 Arena's team display. ZDaemon I do believe uses a similar system to Quake 3 as well, using TrueType Fonts. I attached a mockup screenshot of how it should look. The colored transparent background highlights the columns and gives a quick reference to the type of information it displays: Black = Names Dark Red = Health Dark Green = Armor Dark Purple = Weapon Dark Yellow = Ammo Dark Blue = Location This should carry over into the actual implementation, and is not just for the mockup. The location column could be collapsed if the current map lacks any SECTINFO, or UDMF Location fields. | ||||||||||||

God motherfucking damnit... This tracker NEEDS the ability to edit descriptions if you are the poster. I accidentally submitted without fully completing my description. Anyhow, I added a new image to increase brightness/contrast so you can see the display better. The edit I wanted to make to my description was to indicate that if a User's/Weapon's/Location's name was too long, it would get trimmed, and a ... added to the end, which is displayed in the Mockup screenshot. Since TTF Fonts aren't in, and might not be for a while, CONFONT could be a good choice until then. Also, if you want some description for the columns besides color, having a top row/header that shows this would be fine: Name | H | A | Weapon | Ammo(or Amo) | Location |

Personally, I think it would be better if there was a "COOPINFO" lump so modders can edit the display to suit their needs. (Assuming it is possible to create such a feature). |

This, and what Thetis said. I too, feel like the Coop Info takes up alot of space, even while in Widescreen mode, I sometimes have to toggle it off. |

This is something I've wanted to do, it'll be on my list. For now I'll acknowledge I want to do it, and will return to it hopefully when some of my list clears up |

The problem I'm seeing here is that there isn't enough screen space for massive amounts of text like that. StrikerMan's screenshots don't exhibit the problem since they are so hi-res but what about 640x480? 800x600? |

Yeah, with Coop info the way it is currently, I can't even see half of the stuff on-screen with it covering it all up while a server is full. Be it at 640x480, or running 1920x1080 with text scaling on. |
