Yes, vanilla Doom is/was doing so well its own.Breezeep wrote: Complex Doom is the cancer that's killing Zandronum.
Didn't you make that failure attempt of a MOP add-on for it? And then turned around and said you did it on purpose when you realised it was said failure.Monsterovich wrote: ^^^^^
Weren't you the one who made a MoP addon for complex doom? How hypocritical.Monsterovich wrote:^^^^^Breezeep wrote: Complex Doom is the cancer that's killing Zandronum.
Bwaahahaha. It's a gameplay mod that brings in more people. I'm feeling indifferent about it, but if you say that just because you hate the mod then you are so wrong.Breezeep wrote: Complex Doom is the cancer that's killing Zandronum.

I don't think people giving their opinions on mods they like/don't like is too bad. Being able to say "I don't like X because Y" is great. People should be able to provide negative feedback without fear of getting squashed.Ivan wrote: Yeah I think it's about time this thread gets locked, attacks on mods won't get you anywhere. Yeah but you don't get it. If an author gets constantly bothered by these "criticisms" (which in this thread there was none) then he/she might eventually want to quit modding. What do you think that causes, especially if the mod in question is not as bad is it is made out to be? Now refer to my post.TerminusEst13 wrote:I don't think people giving their opinions on mods they like/don't like is too bad. Being able to say "I don't like X because Y" is great. When authors get overly defensive and start lashing out at critics and when people just start shitposting about mods they don't like, though, then we have a problem.
So instead of locking right away at the first sign of trouble, let's try and smooth things over a little bit. Keep it chill, bros.
BH and AoW are dead I believe, since I haven't seen any people play those anymore. It's all about Complex and MegaMan, and some Jump Maze from what I see now. Nobody plays other mods that are actually good anymore, so I usually just play with friends for entertainment now.Marcaek wrote: Mods don't steal players. How many BH\AoW\GvH players actually venture outside those servers? 10%?

If an author is bothered by criticism to the point where he decides to quit modding because of it, then there's probably a completely different and worse problem going on.Ivan wrote:If an author gets constantly bothered by these "criticisms" (which in this thread there was none) then he/she might eventually want to quit modding.
1) No. There are other areas than just Doomseeker. But, I did notice the same thing, the Doomseeker search results have been getting smaller recently. But, do not worry. This is only a temporary lapse, where many folks are just taking a break from the game. They will return in a few years though, so, do not worry.ReBDooMine wrote: is it dying? like in zandronum browser, i expected to find tons of players but theres only ... so what do you think?

and what keeps it alive?
People just need to filter trolls/fanhaters from real cisicism, if not I would not be here long ago by alot of "your map sux" generic messages.Ivan wrote: Yeah but you don't get it. If the author stoped to add a new class every week, properly fix the new classes, not touch the original classes code, it would be much better.IdeIdoom wrote: Know what's more cancerous (if you even call that cancer) than that: Hek's multiverse classes for GVH.
I'm sorry but whoever made that updated chart completely butchered the original one Mobius created. He/She/Whoever made it has no idea what it's like in Odamex and Zdaemon.Awesome Possum wrote:BH and AoW are dead I believe, since I haven't seen any people play those anymore. Now this, this is a true masterpiece. (Had me laughing quite a bit here!)
Exactly. Well put.ibm5155 wrote: Megaman doesn't steal doom fans, they steal megaman fans to it,it's like saying doom is stealing heretic/strife players just because they are hosted on the same máster server
No. Discussions like these is what forums are for.Ivan wrote: Yeah I think it's about time this thread gets locked, attacks on mods won't get you anywhere. If anything, it'll make things worse.
What? Most people here have nerves of steel. Quitting a project because some people vocally express displeasure towards it isn't a good reason.Ivan wrote:Yeah but you don't get it. I know it sucks to see very populated servers of mods you don't like while no one plays what you want to play, but let's not get desperate here. No mod is doing any harm to anything. Even if these mods don't pass the test of your own standards for balance, map quality, graphics, etc, you can't objectively say these mods are bad, not fun, suck, etc. because if that judgement was truly objective, no one would really play them. And no, it doesn't help if people on the forums support your opinion. It's still subjective. I'd rather focus on populating the servers I like in your place, if you even have such a problem. Many years ago people wrote:GVH and jumpmaze are the cancers of Skulltag!
