Summary | 0002301: Able to get inside actor mover and block client position while server position keeps moving |
Description | See attached screenshot. The green player uses the server-side position while the red player uses the client-side one. If you desync the actors, you can go inside the red player and effectively block it while the green player continues to move until it catches up and resyncs the positions. |
Steps To Reproduce | 1. zandronum -iwad doom2.wad -file actormover_02.wad -host
2. Connect a client to the server with an emulated ping of 200.
3. Join the game.
4. Bump into the dummy player. Try to get inside the red one. |
Additional Information | It's related to the ancient thing x/y/z desync issue. |
