I can agree to the bagel horde. I didn't have much problems with zh until retardation showed it's ugly face...
Can safely say I've never even played it. Basically the GVH:Multiverse of ZH rite? There's like 10 pk3s on that server.

It's basically that, yep. Except infested with memes and zombies are instead bagels for whatever the fucking reason.

As long as the current developers of both Zandro and ZD keep updating and making content for their respective playerbases, it'll be a long shot before Doom is dead. There is no hope for Odamex, Odamex is what happens when doom is dead, just keep that in mind.

Mods don't steal players. Those players play mods because they care more about them than they do about Doom.

How many BH\AoW\GvH players actually venture outside those servers? 10%?

I'd say if all the co-op/invasion servers were switched to survival/survival-invasion it'd be quite fun.

Yes, it's slowly getting forgeting.
The gold age of "multiplayer modern port" was on skulltag 97 era, but also it was the era when really great mods were introduced (all out war, who dun it, jump maze, ghouls vs humans, zombie horde [couf blood zombie horde],Armagedon...).

Today the same mods still exists, being fixed or trying to be fixed the unbalanced fixes that were added by the time.

I think now that all this inovative/creative mods are know, people are starting to get bored of it, and since there isn't any new mods like the same level they were in a frequente timing, people are slowly going for other games...

I'll not lie, what made me get stucked in zandronum/skulltag was the multiplayer, it was the first multiplayer game I ever played (on skulltag 97), and, the experience was amazing, it's still cool, but, playing the same mods by 5 or 7 years is starting to get bored (as an example of jump maze, before I was a completly noob, now I know every single map, still not the best player, but the jump maze magic is now gone)

I don't see any problem with bagel horde, if I wanted to play doom I would know I'm into the wrong port, bagel horde was like a extra life for zombie horde, it worked for a while, and now, it disapeared.

Dawg what you talking about, Odamex has always only been used for exclusive tournaments and events but that's pretty much it.

Wrong. Even for exclusive tournaments Odamex is dead. Zandronum has more at this point. (Even though most of them don't finish)

Is this thread slowly dying?

Let's discuss it. And then we'll discuss it again in 6 months when somebody else starts a "Doom is dead" thread.

It's wrong to use the term dead when it isn't completely inactive.

World Doom League was hosted on Odamex for this summer.

In addition, Odamex doesn't really have much of a community to keep it alive. It's easy to argue this when not only does it have 0 players the majority of the time, but even when there is someone playing a server, the master site still reports 0 players. If it can be considered alive, it is living on a prayer.

Complex Doom is the cancer that's killing Zandronum.
