I do test people in a duel. Minimum acceptable is 25-11 in Shoot map. Flying_Duck is an exception, he's a friend of Galactus.

Clanhopping is not a decision, I repeat. The person that clanhops doesn't normally think about matters like their previous clan dying or their next clan going inactive. Once their new clan stops playing, they just hop to the next one. That's the point.

As a hardcore duelist (not as of now sadly) I can say you are missing the major points in a duel. Not everything is about how well you can aim in a duel. There is strategy, timing, thinking, map control... So many factors you are throwing out the window it's making me really pissed. I just hope not everyone thinks as absent minded as you are, or else this port will never improve.

I obviously didn't mean that duel is all about aiming, lol. It's just that I'm not usually separating the "strategy, timing, thinking, map control", to me it just looks like *aiming* and *skills*, with the latter part being pretty ducking different among game modes (that's also why I can tell Dragon that he can't aim without meaning that he sucks). And also, I guess, by "aiming" I didn't just mean pointing your mouse properly, but also for example being aware of what's going on and being able to pick the right target at the right moment quickly.

Being a cheater once means you're willing to break the rules in a very bad way. Cheating means you throw your integrity as a player out the window. It's quite uncommon to see someone cheat once, and never again. It also means that you don't care about the game and only care about the quickest way to winning by doing things that break the rules of fairness for everyone else, and don't mind ruining games in the process.

What's even worse is when it's done by someone unskilled (as it only amplifies the above statement). Letting someone like that in is either insanely naive or insanely ignorant. Maybe both.


I hate seeing these kind of thread derailments... but every single time you make some kind of action in the doom community, it always solidifies everything everyone says about you. I try to be neutral and argue that the actions you make aren't always 'retarded', but you insist on making that an impossible idea to prove.


Letting in ex-cheaters is probably the lowest VGL has ever gone to. Is that really your base common denominator now?

I don't think I've ever said this, but I full-heartedly believe if you are letting in someone with a terrible reputation... on top of cheating... you should resign as the leader and let someone competent take your place.

I said there were exceptions, Ten has gone out of his way to try and help the clan scene multiple times and earned his way out of what he did.

He's proven he's competent enough to want to help the port and again and lead a clan. Can you say that about your new recruit? Has your new recruit proven that he's past the cheating incident?

ALSO, the ex-cheater thing is a bit time dependant. If it was only once, 30 years ago and the person is less than 40, then give the person a trial period, and then concider the full integration.

Juuust my two cents, I just think that one might not really get the full picture if <10 years old when cheating, and the immense timespan might give enough of a burn.

We're talking about this like it's something serious to care about... I mean, really, WTF? It's just a game and I'd like to have people to play with. As long as these people aren't masterbanned and don't annoy me and/or actually disrupt the game with their actions, it's okay. That's the point. Not hacking now == is a legit member.

IRL logic (the same that applies to actual crimes) is a bit not suitable for Doom. Just saying.

Remember that we're talking not about a simple ex-cheater that decided to redeem himself and start again, we're talking about a guy that passed over the capodecima process to get unbanned for wrong reasons, you can't trust in a guy like him that early at the point you let him join your clan like if he were a new innocent face in the park.

Alien, I have to be honest, if you have a respect for VGL and what it was, you should either, or step down as leader to let someone with experience and stable social condition take the leadership or just kill the clan now and stop making it a joke.
