Nothing to get excited about really... I need to see some actual game-play before I care. Hopefully it can be the first game to actually wow me graphically with IDTech5 but I won't hold my breath. Also to people saying Wolfenstein: NO isn't optimized... please stop trying to play on toasters because the game runs perfectly for anyone with half decent hardware.

processor optimalisation? what? the game just run fluid here '-'
The only think i really want is a descent AI (wolf is a bit dumb, the same as classic dooms), something like rage but harder would be welcome :)
AND, I don't care if it's 100gb or more, I have a 1tb HDD for it :D

I remember I was using a debuger on wolf, and it showed the used of processor, and it did a good work making a good use of all 4 cores, and not like some games that just use a single core heh

Cyberdemon? Big deal! Teasers are useless, but maybe the Quakecon videos will be good. Not like I'll be able to make it there, though.

Teasers are basically a way to say "Hello, we're working on this" or "No, this is not dead".
Why is finding the user CP so hard?

No, my dear friend... that teaser was not useless. Were you expecting a thirty minute long trailer or something? I am glad we at least got this much, after so many years of getting nothing.

What I like in an fps is something like RotT (remake), Serious Sam 3 BFE, Hard Reset, Painkiller, you get the idea.
Anything else is tedious to play for me. I'm aware it's just my taste but this is it.
There's far better levels. (To actually play, rather than watch.) The Asylum, The London Nautica, and the Moon are ones that I particularly liked. Beyond the first mission, there aren't any forced turret sections or anything else, which is nice.

I just hope they learned what made Doom 3 suck and won't repeat the same mistakes again... ESPECIALLY THE GOD DAMN SUPER SHOTGUN'S ABSCENCE! (No, don't bring up the expansion... that's the lamest way to put a signature weapon back that should've already been there in first place)

Given how The New Order's teaser showed basically nothing but those Guard Robots (the cylon-like Nazi ED-209s) and them being assembled, while there were things like the London Monitor in the full game, it's possible that in the new Doom, we could very well be seeing bigger and nastier demons than our beloved Cybie.

Yes, this is a crosspost from that other new Doom thread.

I just hope this is worth the hype, although there's more chance for this to be botched than make a smash hit. Imo, Doom 3 wasn't that bad, it was just what they tried doing that backed people off. Hopefully the fast-paced action of Doom returns in Doom (4). Instead of trying to make another jumpscare fest. (I wonder if anything can possibly top the 20 year old Cyberdemon)

THIS
The movement, science-eldritch-and-hellfire atmosphere and fast-paced action are what really make DOOM, I think.

If Doom 4 pulls a CoD/Halo on us then it's gonna break a lot of consistancy with it's predecessors. And thus instantly will make it very, very different and just plain lame.

I hope the player wont be slow' like doom3,
maybe not so fast like Doom2 (but it could be cool), i hope a evil atmosphere with epic orchestral music, they can do it.

The trailer is awesome, i can imagine if i must fight this cyberdemon....scaring and epic!
Doom4 could be a nextgen version of the first doom games with just nextgen possibilities, the true monsters in nextgen style (like the cyberdemon of the trailer).

Doom3 was ok, for a FPS game, not really for a doom game (?...)
I can't imagine how can work doom3 in online XDDDD
Must be slow with a lot of corridors....and crazy attacks....

Doom can be the super King if they show us an evil atmosphere as before, but with the HD/Nextgen type They can do!

The DOOM reveal will only be shown to those who attend QuakeCon.

Un-fucking-believable. Why do I get the feeling this is just to artificially boost QuakeCon attendance?

Doesn't matter. People will still record it and upload it everywhere! So I'm not really concerned!

Here's a link that works: http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/07/02/doom- ... attendees/

I don't know if it's going to be as simple as having people record it, though.

Code: Select all

<Synert> fuck
<Synert> plugged in my memory stick and got a bsod

To answer that, they will supposedly disallow streaming of the event, and possibly take down any videos that surface, Youtube or not.

What a way to twist the knife, Bethesda.
