where are you from
So..
Where are YOU from? Describe where you live. What country? What city? What kind of neighborhood? Is it dangerous? Do you like it?
This is TOTALLY stalker proof. I guarantee it.
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in the township of Etobicoke. We have maple syrup and the CN tower. It's pretty safe here. I like it. Internet is expensive though, and the transit sucks. You will contract every disease possible from being in a bus, and then proceed to get lung cancer when you transfer to Toronto's asbestos-expelling subway system that is from the Mesozoic era.

RE: where are you from
I'm from Colton California in the United States of America. It wasn't at first dangerous there, but when I was in second grade, there have been many gunfights. So, we moved to the High Desert. I like the High Desert more than Colton (Already experienced living in the ghetto :P)

RE: where are you from
I'm from Russia, Moscow. I live in eastern part of the city, and it's relatively calm. There is some number of ethnic criminal here though. Otherwise it's quite nice.

RE: where are you from
I live in a kind of small town (less than 10k inhabitants) with cheap fibre connection and train station 100m away from my house (Actually I can see it from the window). The town is pretty calm, I think I haven't seem any real crime here.

RE: where are you from
I live in Dominican Republic, an island smaller than Miami that almost nobody knows about it, and from the little amount of people that knows of this place, the majority thinks Tarzan lives here and we are half-naked natives. Only Deluxe, KnarfRedrum and I play from here. Ah by the way we talk spanish here (no, not tacos or burritos) so i will hola you! >:D

RE: where are you from
I'm Mario's neighbour, from the land of Pizza and plumbers.
The city is a small lousy one 20Km away from Milan, pretty safe and very boring. We also have the 3rd biggest dome of the nation, so isn't uncommon to see chinese and any kind of tourist around here, my only wonder is that if it's really worth to come in such pitiful place only for a dome and a couple of churches.
The place isn't very polluted and the air is decently clean during clear days, we have few parks and I actually live 50 meters away from a national park (Ticino National Park), that comes along with a nice obstacle trail. Too bad I'm a bummer and I never go to exercise. Duh!
Did I mention how with over 70.000 citizens we have only one cinema? An 8mbps/450kbps connection costs 35€/month and there are still part of the city which don't have access to DSL (56kpbs FTW!). The transportation is quite terrible. We don't have night public transportation, if you want it you have to book it. Yes, you have to pick up the phone and call the damn company to ask for a night bus, with several hours of anticipation, otherwise YOU WALK! Despite of the many towns nearby that are served by our public transportation system, the price for a ticket is a higher than what you would pay with a private transportation company, and the vehicles way more uncomfortable, while they're also less frequent: so get a private company's bus and you'll arrive earlier, spending less and travelling on a more comfortable seat.
Another fun fact about this city is that we've the highest national ratio of gamblers per 100 citizens, as well as one of the highest drug consumption rate per citizen. In other words if you're about to retire or you've retired it's a nice city to live in, otherwise you might end up with a needle in the vein if you stick around here too long. AHAH.
Oh yes! We were also the first city in the ranking for the highest number of house robberies in the country, during the 2011; I suppose we're still not far from there.
The city is super safe though, if you can go over being robbed by every jewel you have at home, getting raped by a random gypsy and if you're smart enough to stay away from hard drugs.
I can't tell if I've been sarcastic or not.

RE: where are you from
Liberty, south-east Texas, south-west border of the Bible Belt, United States, North America. I've never heard or read of any aforementioned gunfights or drug busts here, so it's calm. As for facts...
- We have an exact replica of the Liberty Bell from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- We are the third oldest city in the state, established in 1831.
- The neighbouring town, Dayton, was originally called West Liberty until the mid-1880s.
- Sam Houston practiced law in this city, and managed two plantations in the county before his death.

RE: where are you from
netherlands, just live outside a small town with less then 5K population. around the corner is a motor speedway and a industrial area. lots of farmland too, there is zero public transport in my area so i have to go to a other town nearby (about 45K population) to even get on a bus, if i want to take a train i have to travel about 25 KM to the nearest town with a trainstation. internet is quite expensive for what you get (about €26,50 per month for 8mb down and 1mb up altho most of the time its only half as fast as they claim because shitty ADSL)
in short this isnt a very ideal area to live in but atleast its very peacefull and clean air.
i supose the most interesting things that happens around here are the occasional traffic accidents and the fact some movie shot some scenes here.

Some rainforest/beach town by the Pacific on Vancouver Island. No night life whatsoever, but very safe. Streets pretty much quiet past 11 until summer, which is when we get floods of tourists and vacationers everywhere.
The most I see for crime here is some white kids getting mad at each other on facebook for owing 5$ of weed.

RE: where are you from
Was born in Athens, Greece when my father was working over there.
Moved to Lancashire, England a couple of weeks after I was born and lived there until I was 16.
Then moved to Warwickshire, England which is where I currently live.
Later in life when I get my DPT degree I hope to move to South Africa (hopefully 5 years from now).

RE: where are you from
I live in the western part of Romania (Duh! Look at my location!). The city that I live in is named Oradea, which is also the "capital city" of Bihor county. It has over 195.000 souls currently living in it.
I was born in this city and lived my first six years there, but afterwards moved to a village sixty kilometers away from the city. Due to "economic" problems had to move back to the city last summer.
The city itself is normal, I guess? Crime rate is pretty lowish, though it never hurts to watch your back. Other than that, I don't know what else to say about it. You could always look it up if you really want to know more about it!

<20 miles from Manhattan in the northeast corner of NJ. That's all you need to know~
RE: where are you from
About 45 miles from Manhattan within Long Island, NY. As far as living standards go, its fairly decent, however there's a fair amount of shady neighborhoods and towns, not to mention the fact that there are a lot of stupid people wherever you look.
