why was
RE: why was
Keep in mind there are more people who never even bother to ask. They could just go on thinking that Zandronum is a dumbed-down version of Skulltag. :(
RE: why was
Maybe a "what happened to skulltag" thread in the announcements section would clear things up.

RE: why was
This is going off topic. If you wish to make a new thread discussing this issue then please feel free to do so, just do not do it in this thread as the question has already been answered.
My response to the Skulltag question:
The creator and original lead developer of Skulltag had gone to work on a commercial game with Bobby Prince (the musician for Doom), and did not have the time any more to maintain or update Skulltag (the last stable ST update was in 2010).
In the past few years, ST became open-source, and development was resumed on skulltag.net (now defunct; archived copy here) by Torr & what would become the Zandronum development staff.
Then after that, in 2012, the remaining ST team forked the ST opensource code (legally, mind you) to Zandronum
Hope this helps. I'll see if I can get this information posted as a sticky or announcement somehow without pushing/interrupting other announcements out of the way

RE: why was
If you would like to make suggestions, please do so in a more appropriate thread
Personally, I would not want to babysit the community in that manner.
