Help on even starting an MP game

I can not for the life of me figure out how to start an MP game in doomseeker. I have all the wads required for the server and even the seeker recognizes that. but every time I enter zandronum, it tells me I can't join the server because I don't have the wads...

How for the life of me can you join a simple server?

this only happens when you try and join your server from your server window, try and starting your game from doomseeker instead.

how do I do that? 2x clicking the server on doomseeker? that still gave me the same result

you just have to query the server list and find the name of your server, simple as that -.-

not working

EDIT: hell, I even tried one that just needed the doom2.wad
Still gave me the same result

Then you havent proberly forwarded your ports before you started the server, or you have unchecked broadcast to master/visible to public in the server settings.

how can I check both?

EDIT: I'm using wifi from my family desktop which means its behind a router

you just log into your router and find your ports, your router manual might have information on how to port forward, and if that is not the case, then just google it.
You did not specify what "both" you should check, always do that when you give a question.

Currently using simple port forwarding.. what's zandronum's start and end port?

default port for zandronum is 10666, just open the port range 10666 to 10667, that will work out.

Are you sure your IWAD(s) are up to date?

Because not being able to connect to a Doom2.WAD server sounds bizarrely likely to be caused by that.

(If you otherwise can't connect to a server, try starting multiple instances of the game from Doomseeker. Since Zandronum can't connect to anything if the port it is on is already in use. (And as said, it starts on 10666, and then goes up and up if it's taken already.))

Tried again, It now keeps saying "level authentication failed"

Make sure your doom2.wad is up to date with the latest version.

Is there anything in your Skins folder that shouldn't be?
