And after several months, 0.29 is released.
We went all-out on customization in this one, adding numerous optional cvars that change gameplay--be it dramatically or not. We also got to take care of some absolutely outrageous bugs and gameplay problems, as well as a few balance issues, added some new weapons for Gentleman Mode/PunchDrunk for different characters, all topped off with a wonderful helping of polish.

It's a song and dance routine by now, there's always some crashing or breaking issues.
Red armor crashed the game on spawn, the Wraithverge turned on Parias and would tear him to shreds, bosses could be forced into a painstate to render them invulnerable to everything while monologuing, and ZDoom still had some ConsoleCommand in the code spamming the log on Ranger firing.

It used to run off Cells, but the ammo bar kept desyncing, for some reason. It would randomly decide not to deplete ammo from the display (when in reality, you had actually used 20), resulting in confusion when it stopped shooting lightning at what appeared to be 100-200 Cells.

As Pres said, it used to run off Cells but caused horribly confusing desync issues. We didn't know how to fix it and couldn't even reliably replicate it, so we took the only other available solution and made it not use anything. Besides, if the Weapon I using Cells solved his problems, then the Laser Cannon would've been fine already.

To be honest, I think that Caleb would be a really interesting character which could focus on risk. Some weapons do not have the firepower of other weapons but inherit other advantages to gain the upper hand or they are more powerful but also carry some disadvantages for the player.

1 - Pitchfork
The 1st weapon with the hightest range and lowest DPS but it can slow down enemies for a while.
2 - Flair Gun / Aerosol Can
Flair Gun: Hard to hit and no splash damage, but if you hit it does additional damage over time.
Also lightens up the area drastically
Aerosol Can: Strong flame attack, but you shouldn't use it for too long or the can might blow up.
3 - Sawed Off Shotgun
Shoots either one shell (ok damage with acceptable accuracy) or two at once (high DPS but with higher).
4 - Tommy Gun
A high rate of fire machine gun with some vertical and horizontal spread. Little damage which is compensated by the high rate of fire.
You can also perform a sweeping gun move, drastically increasing horiznotal spread and rate of fire.
5 - Napalm Launcher
Launches a hot blast of napalm dealing sub-par initial damage but deals additional damage over time, caused by the created flames on the ground. But you take damage from the flames as well.
Secondary: Idk, maybe you are more creative :P
6 - Voodoo Doll
Primary: It could perform an attack similar to the Archvile. It needs a short preparation time but causes above average damage on your target. But if your attack fails and your target moves out of your vision, you take the full damage instead.
Secondary: Same as the above but with shorter preparation time and the assurance that you WILL die. But all your HP are converted into damage and even adds another 50% to the total damage dealt.
Can't hope to win a game? Blast your enemy with one last hopless strike!

Traits:
No rest for the wicked: Being an undead makes him more fragile and easier to fall apart, however he can leech out the life of the recently died. He takes more damage from other players but can heal himself by picking up life essence of killed players (applying this logic for singleplayer would be nice too but I fear it might break some maps).
HEHAHAHAHAHAHA: Caleb can utilize Dynamite which bounces off walls and detonates after some seconds. Even more, the less health Caleb has, the faster he will throw Dynamite.

I just love Caleb and think that he would fit very well
