MM8BDM world domination
RE: MM8BDM world domination
Guys we're arguing about who we should let play Doom
Playing any video game including Doom is by definition a waste of time
We're arguing about who deserves to waste their time with us, because we are better time wasters than them and we were here first, no fun allowed
Seriously people? Let them have their fun, turn on your server browser's filter to megagame.wad if you don't want to be a part of helping new players in here (no matter their origin), and step down from your high horses for a second

RE: MM8BDM world domination
People are way too quick to judge. The MM community is just like anyone else who comes new into our community. We shouldn't shun them, or push them away, we should welcome them. I'd prefer not to see any discrimination against what anyone is playing here, or who is new and who is not. Let people play what they want. In the end, we're all playing the same game, even if it is modified differently from everything else. But that's what Zandronum/Skulltag is/was all about. Freedom to play and make whatever the hell you want.
Now kindly stop the "You're trolling" "no you" posts.
Megaman players? Have fun :)

@OP
I see, that's why there was a random surge in MM8BDM servers as of late. Doesn't phase me at all :P

RE: MM8BDM world domination
This mod is great and all, but it gets annoying when the only servers with players have MM8BDM.

RE: MM8BDM world domination
It's a completely different community, so it's not like it matters.

The exact changeset for build 3216 is:Konar6 wrote: I have the 64bit binary of build 3216 -> http://sickedwick.net/k6/037a9e07c2fb39 ... 64.tar.bz2
or you can get the source from the repository. The downside is that I don't know which exact changeset is build 3216, it is one of those commited on May 1st, I'd guess the latest -> https://bitbucket.org/Torr_Samaho/zandr ... 5bb9ff700a
https://bitbucket.org/Torr_Samaho/zandr ... 92f28e1eb4
Code: Select all
hg clone -u d1a03bb https://bitbucket.org/Torr_Samaho/zandronum

RE: MM8BDM world domination
Why do you think so? According to the log (and so far I found this information to be accurate) this changeset corresponds to SVN revision 3233.skyrimguy wrote: The exact changeset for build 3216 is:

I guess that I need to apologize for not explaining myself correctly, what I tried to say by “The exact changeset for build 3216 is:” was “The exact changeset for Skulltag 3216 is:”, because that changeset is Skulltag 98e 3216, here 2 pictures to prove it:Torr Samaho wrote:Why do you think so? And the changeset for SVN r3216, is Skulltag 98e 3199:

RE: MM8BDM world domination
Now I see what you mean. The number generated by tools/updaterevision/updaterevision.c in this revision does not generate the SVN revision number you are looking for. I wrote the number conversion code used in that changeset before we converted our repository for the open source release, based on a different Hg repository.skyrimguy wrote: And the changeset for SVN r3216, is Skulltag 98e 3199:

This changeset is the one that corresponds to V0.98E-ALPHA-R3216 as generated from our old Skulltag SVN repository. You have to manually correct the revision number to generate binaries from my public Hg repository that match the ones generated from the old Skulltag SVN repository.
RE: MM8BDM world domination
If possible, could you tell me how to manually correct the revision number? in the meantime, I will research it.Torr Samaho wrote: You have to manually correct the revision number to generate binaries from my public Hg repository that match the ones generated from the old Skulltag SVN repository.

RE: MM8BDM world domination
Instead of including svnrevision.h in version.h, define the desired values for SVN_REVISION_STRING and SVN_REVISION_NUMBER in version.h.skyrimguy wrote: If possible, could you tell me how to manually correct the revision number? in the meantime, I will research it.

I'm glad to hear that :).skyrimguy wrote: It works, thank you!
It's still about time that MM8BDM upgrades to Zandronum. Is somebody in contact with their developers and knows when they are going to switch? We will not keep the Skulltag alpha servers on the Zandronum master forever. They create too much confusion.
RE: MM8BDM world domination
To be honest, I don't know.Torr Samaho wrote: Is somebody in contact with their developers and knows when they are going to switch?

RE: MM8BDM world domination
I got to say that MM8BDM its good, but it uses an alpha ST instead of Zandro and there is spam of servers full of bots in times.
Look, why cant everybody play the both games without arguing and be more united mates. The Megagame guys play DOOM and DOOM guys play Megagame. I know that this dont concern me, but we could achieve more and be more open, after all, the matter is spend time and have fun. Right

RE: MM8BDM world domination
I think Ivory (who's in charge of the next version of MM8BDM) said they're going to update it mid-november.
http://cutstuff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=4111
That version is going to use Zandronum AFAIK.
