What Made You Like Doom?

I just kept playing the first Doom. Later on, since my obsession over Doom grew larger, I got Doom 2 and circle jerked that game. Man I love it so much!

I love it because it, and a good few of the games based off it, really stands out from the crowd of FPS games. Most games these days are just war games with no real gameplay diversity, so I often come back to Doom thinking of how original it was. If only more games had such originality.

Started with shareware Doom first. Then, my father gave me the Final Doom. I loved it so much, I treasured it more than anything. Well, later on, I had Doom 2 but having played Final Doom, I never really liked it. Not at all. So yeah, I really don't like Doom 2 at all, but that's pretty much the maps and nothing else.

That's the funny thing. I don't actually know what it is about doom that interests me so much. I can move onto others games and stick with them for a while, but i always end up back at doom.

I don't know why i like it, but i do, and that's cool.

Doom 64 used to scare me out of my wits, and then I slowly edged into it after my brother did a playthrough. Then I had it under my wing and expanded into Doom 2, and here I am.

learning how windows 3.1 was working on a 4/86pc...learn how to explore the file store on a hard-drive, like a adventurer.....<Doom2?..What is this?>. Once I double click the .exe ..... This is the reason why I'm a pc gamer today.

When i was around 2, it was when i saw my father playing final doom on his psx, it was good but i fully didnt understand it but i kinda liked it, then my father had some nightmare about so thats how he stopped playing doom, till a few years later when I began to play doom, basically to take my fathers place as a doomer

I like it cuz the design is great and music is outstanding. Me growing up playing halo,seeing this was like a dream come true as it had everything I wanted. Altho I do like doom 2 for its modibility,I love vanilla doom more than anything.

I loved Doom mainly because of the shotgun, and would start searching for one, the way Doomguy pumps it filled me with awe when I was young. I first played Doom on the PSX and loved the shotgun sound.

I first played Doom 2 and the ultimate doom when i was 2-3. I later regained interest when I was around 11 years and used to play lots of single player with god mode ofc :D And then in 2011 summer I discovered skulltag and played jumpmaze every summer. I somehow magically lost interest after summer and that routine stuck till like last year. I regained interest in 2013 December and started competitive and now after summer's over here I'm losing interest again.... But I'll cut the crap

It was super fun to play and and online was even better. I liked the game when I was 2 and it just stuck to me. It's my #1 go-to game when I'm free, but I guess I won't play much from now on. The simplicity and layout were too good to be ignored.

Welp, my brother MP2E was REALLY into doom (As some of you know.) So i kinda got into it. Now here I am, Remembering my Brothers WDI and Doom Matches.

I was first exposed to DOOM at around 6 years of age. Grew up playing the game and it had a lasting impression on me ever since.

For me Doom was not the game where my love for First Person Shooter action started.
3D shooters was the whole NEW gaming concept and for me it started with Wolfenstein3D.
Sure later i heard about Ken's Labyrinth, Depth Dwellers, Isle of Dead, etc.....
Its because i have financials problems now, but before all that i have downloaded, and bought all available 3D FP Shooters.
I've got hundreds of them, alot are still rapped in plastic, waiting for being installed.....
I've seen the developments of these games as they are known today.
