A better question would be, why no more character classes in general? Is there not enough originality, or too many classes?

Like Jes said, there is definitely another character class on the way. Maybe two more.
It has been a long time coming, hindered by lots of computer troubles and distraction with Cyberrunner and Naraka development, but there will be a ninth hero dammit.

Even with that comment, I'd like note that you forgot a word : Eventually. Yes, we'll get a hero at some point in time (short of something terrible happening and term losing everything samsara-related), but you know the fans. Patience is something which doesn't come easily for some people, such as myself. [troll] Add the next hero already, term! [/troll]

For people saying "why no caleb".
I talked with Terminus about this, and it runs a bit deep.

Back when we had 5 classes (the 4 doom engine heroes+BJ), the discussion was up for 6th class, and in the end, Duke was just more iconic that Caleb was. While Caleb did have his following, he never became as iconic as Duke, so Duke made the 6th class.
So then came the 7th. Security Officer from Marathon could not possibly be any hero slot other than 7th hero.
At this point, Caleb is sort of out of the loop because he doesn't really bring enough in weaponry to the table. Almost all of his quirks and whatnot are already covered by other heroes. Let's give a quick breakdown:
-Coming from the Build Engine, his damage values are static (used to be Duke's)
-Coming from the Build Engine, he's pretty fragile (also Duke's)
-He also taunts a lot (Duke...See where I'm going here?)
-Most of his weapons have altfires. (Security Officer)
-His slot 1 is a throw-able explosive (Duke, again)
-Slot 3 is basically the SSG, which is supposed to be a downright specialty of Doomguy. No one else should have that kind of power with shells, except maybe Dual WSTE-M5s, which are so inefficient they make up for it. (Doomguy)
-Slot 6 is basically a cross of the Plasma Rifle and the Fusion Pistol, (Doomguy and Security Officer), and is stupidly broken. Does too much damage, does double against mechanical enemies which is completely unnecessary, and moves faster than Plasma Rifle shots.

TL;DR people: Caleb does not bring enough new things to the table to be added, and steals from other heroes' quirks.

Sure, but that's no reason for people to not make addons :D

I'd rather Lo Wang over both.. Dunno who fits a crazy ninja style atm + NUKE.. his weapons aren't the most reliable and are difficult to use but once mastered he is a killing machine.

Terminus did say that if Chex guy wasn't one of the originals and he was looking at it from his current standards, he wouldn't of made it in. He only got added because at the time these kinds of things mattered less.

See for more evidence: The reason Term won't remove the DoE ammos for ranger, annoying as they are. He doesn't want to be the guy who says "I know we've had this feature, but now I'm removing it." ever.

For people requesting whatever, make an addon for it yourself! I made Samsara/Stronghold myself when I realized that good stronghold compatibility wasn't going to happen (too much ACS and stuff as well as core samsara files being messed with), so go ahead and make addons!

Why Strifeguy isn't being added is luckily a much simple process:
-Stealth Mechanics, which wouldn't exist in Doom.
-Alarm Mechanics, which don't exist in Doom.
-Upgrade Mechanics, which are a nightmare to implement and balance in Doom, since you don't get to buy them like you did in Strife.
-The fact that most of Strife Guy's weaknesses were native to strife, meaning that he'd be a pain to balance.
-The sigil wouldn't fit the typical Slot 7 layout, which is sort of a bad thing when it comes to balance.
-Steps on Corvus' utility since you could pick stuff up in Strife too.

TL;DR people: Strife Guy is not being added because in addition to being a nightmare to balance, it wouldn't play like strife at all, because normalizing strife would ruin what was so famous about strife. It would simply be Doom with normalized Strife weaponry.

Strife guy would be insanely op and has an absurd amount of group control weapons. I think strifeguy can beat entire chillax in one life with just his fire grenades...

I would like to emphasize this.
Samsara is not, nor will ever be, the end-all be-all all-star crossover--there are plenty of people who have different ideas as to who should make the cut, why, and what they'd do.

And if you'd like to have your own character, please let me know if I can help! Obviously I won't code your character for you, but are you having trouble figuring out what the weapon loadout should be? Are you having trouble figuring out how to do the weapon replacements? Intimidated by all the ACS? Don't know where to begin with SBARINFO?

I gotta admit, while it does make things much easier, that ACS template looks kind of intimidating. So many things you've done for Samsara and need to do for Samsara.

Well, as I understand it, you guys would make a Strifeguy if he had something special about him, right? So how about giving him ability to break one of his weapons for some ammo? And by 'break' I mean 'take from inventory and disable picking up that weapon for another minute', to prevent camping on weapon spawns. This comes from the fact that you could buy things in Strife, so... just an idea ._.
