I actually got this problem before, it was after installing zandronum, everything went fine until i decided to put the doom wads into the zandronum folder, then the access denied appeared out of nowhere, then i just decided to click allow and they moved, when i started to play in a server, i setted all of the keys, my name, video resolution, yadda yadda, then we i was gonna quit after. then the screen went black for a moment and showed that zandronum config file couldn't not been written. and i losed all of the config i just put in!, Since zandronum doesn't want me to put attachment higher than 1 kb, i'll post the links of imgur of the problem here:
The first is the one of the access denied.

That "Acceso a la whateverthefucks" is something you can change in your PC/User settings.

Try going to your Control Panel -> System and Security -> Change User Account Control Settings
Scroll the bar all the way down so that it says "Never notify me when:".

^ All that in Spanish then...

Are you sure you installed Zandro using the installer, or did you overwrite the Zandro files from the archive download link? (https://zandronum.com/download "archive only")

Worst case scenario: Completely remove Zandronum and try again with the installer!

And if all that doesn't work, then I'm clueless :v:

I suggest reinstalling Zandronum, but not in the Program Files folder. Put it in c:\zandronum.

System directories such as Windows or Program Files are read-only for user without administrative privileges. Windows will ask you if you wish to elevate your privileges when you perform standard operations like rename, delete, paste, etc, but programs might have problems. Some programs are aware and will ask you too, but not even notepad knows how to handle this properly, and Zandronum doesn't either.

The proper solution is to install Zandronum somewhere different than "Program Files".

Disabling UAC as Hekmatyar said will also work, but Bill put UAC in place to protect the system from malicious programs.

Doomseeker - a real answer to cross-platform server browser.
Doomseeker dev builds - unofficial Doomseeker builds for Windows.
Gamer's Proxy - a program to emulate ping and packet losses.

Because of this, I think the installer should default to c:\zandronum, not c:\program files\zandronum.

Sounds more like that the ini should not be saved to program files.

Cool, both of the problems got fixed after uninstalling and reinstalling using empyre idea of changing the location files to c:/Zandronum!, now i can play without having to use execute as administrator.
Just great, now the doomseeker marks all the servers as location: unknow.

Please redownload IP2C database from File menu.

This is just hilarious. You are correct, of course, but I remember when Doomseeker did the same thing initially: its configuration file was saved directly in its installation directory. We immediately got complaints that Doomseeker fails to save configuration, while no one has ever complained about ZDoom, Zandronum, Skulltag, and IDE which treat their config files the same since forever.
