Zandronum

We have the player base, we have the skills required... it is time we actually make and COMPLETE a true CTF tournament that is worthy of our community's time. This tournament will be open to all and teams will be selected via draft on a TBA TS server in the nearby future.

Introducing...

Zandronum CTF Champions League

A tournament led by a board of directors selected from the most active clans around the Zandronum community.

Board of Directors:

EG: Ichi
LF: Swiftshot
PRO: Bojan
R: Shane
TE: Galactus
TM: Legion
VGL: AlienOverlord

The board of directors is in charge of the administration of the tournament including but not limited to; captain selection, player approval, wad selection, map selection, rules, eliminations, and/or disqualifications. The board of directors are a majority vote administration and are allowed to participate or not participate in the tournament

Servers:
This tournament is 100% to be hosted and be played on the awesome Best Ever servers. I want to thank Jenova on the excellent job he has done with his servers and feel there is no better selection than using his servers for this grand event.

Stats:
Cuneyt is in charge of the statistics of this tournament.

Rules:
1) NO aliasing
2) TBA

Wads/Maps:
TBA

Teams:
TBA

Timeline:
The expectation is for the draft to be done and games to be started in May. First I plan on filling the board of directors and getting all the rules/map selections down before we get to far.

Well, I approve of this. Even before this 2 Week CTF Tourney came to play, I was talking with Water about reviving ZCC, but you beat me to it. If that "PERM:TBD" position is still open, I would love to help out. But yeah, up to you guys/girls, nevertheless, good luck on this.

The last perm spot was filled by Tenchu.

Why did you post this just as another CTF tourney is underway. A bit of a dick move, couldn't you have waited 2 weeks?

I know, I was refering to posting it just as another CTF tourney got underway is a shitty thing to do. There is no logic in that. I have no problem with the idea of trying to organise a project like this, and I hope it succeeds, but the timing of posting this really could have been planned better.

Posting info on a tournament set for over a month away from now should have no impact on your tournament. All this thread shows right now is there plans to be a tournament in May and the current board members behind the rules that are not even made yet.

After further consideration, I've decided to step down as one of the directors for this league. I was hasty in accepting the position, and now I realize I should have respectfully declined. By this point, I'm fine with engaging in a less active role around here, and just focusing on playing with my clan and nothing more. My days of managing things in this community ended with Skulltag, and I'm content with just playing when I'm able.

I am looking forward to seeing this take off, however. GL to everyone involved in getting this started.

Sorry this thread has been ignored for the last week, I have been out of town. Time to get this rolling. The following clans still have open spots for board members; EL, LF, PRO, R. This tournament is set to start the first of May so we need to take care of the staffing ASAP. Therefore I am going to give 24 hours to those clans to contact me or respond on here to claim their positions on the board or I am going to remove the open board position.

Directors now will finalize all the specifics of the tournament and then will be the administration of it. My plan for this tournament is to create something that rivals the success of the IDL and continues to strive in the future. In order for that to happen there needs to be enough backing for it. Hopefully by bringing together a group on unbiased individuals from across the active clans we can do just that.

Good thing I was overlooked because apparently this League died before it even started.

Well I've been waiting for Jwar to appear on irc but I havent seen him. I would take over this if I must.

He's too busy working last 2 months, hopefully he will find a little time to solve all issues, though... doubt this IDL-sized tourney can be completed anyway knowing problems with Swift's 2weeksctf. However don't lose my hopes...
