Powered: Damageable but will get repaired
Heavy: Still take dmg but runs slower
Light/Weak: runs faster but take 100% dmg
Med: less faster but takes 75% dmg

Steel Amr: (not thought of yet)
Akimbo: Lose fire accuracey, inccreases damage while Holding 2 guns

Weak Sheilds: Loot Sheilds:Increases rate for loot
Contempery: Junk sheilds

Anime Sheilds: American: Increases rates on "Classic weapons"
Japanese: Increases rates on " Anime Weapons

Every 7th level an character is rewarded with a weapon based on their story. But you can still loot, its just that you cant remove your main weapons

Easter eggs, ( not sure about how many guns, grenades are they gonna be)
FPSRPG system, skill trees, strategy, puzzles, based on borderlands (series)

shops, chocobo lady ( for example)
loads of items
a truck load of monsters*

the monsters will not me randomized, its only gonna be the loot

About THAT idea.
I disagree. That idea is horrible.

It is like a mish-mash of random animes, describes a lot of its supposed features, even through I am sure you haven't even begun. It is good to have an accurate idea for a thing, but you should keep it to yourself or your friends. If you want to share it in public, give the general idea, without going much in detail.

Also, you should know how to do a thing. Before you begin creating accurate ideas, you should know a lot about modding. And your idea does not sound like you do.

Also, a lot of people here (including me) dislike anime.

These facts reduce your chance to hire people that actually KNOW
how to do things to 0%. Which is hard enough if you have a great idea and great modding skills.

I'm not disliking anime providing it stays the hell in it's well defined domain and doesn't leak in the places it completely doesn't belong to. Such as this one.

Not caring about an opinion does not invalidate it. It may make you look like a bloody idiot at times, though.

The poster of the original idea whos name is too complex for me to type should probably take a hard break and spend some time actually realising his/her own capabilities and capabilities of zandronum engine. You do not hope that somebody will make all that randomly do you? You'll probably have to do at least 90% of the work yourself, and, to be honest, you sound alot like trying to jump way higher than your head is. Feel free to prove me wrong on that last one bit.

Also, while I'm not one of those guys who starts to spam hate as soon as they see something remotely resembling anime, the Anime+Doom combo has been attempted multiple times before and kind of proven to not work. Like, at all.

The first, third and fourth paragraphs of this post do not intend to offend anybody reading them.

Idk I think it could be done very well. Final Fantasy doom wasn't great but the art style wasn't too bad.

Im also very convinced it CAN work, but properly.
The video links above proves not to be done properly.
For starters the sprites used there are way to big.
Im sure everybody is agreeing to that too.
Not to mention some of the rotations angles (when shooting for example)...

And the second link, the weaponry (fist?) is drawn by some poor paint program and suddenly a good well colored (with high quality) pistol shows up.

I admit, THAT way is not the proper way.
If i can get my hands on this ragnarok thingy, i can prove that it CAN work.
But never mind, i wont do that.

Yes, I agree - anime is the worst thing that could happen to humanity! I mean, just look at most of anime heroes: they have their hopes, they have their goals, they have their desires, and they actualy MAKE PROGRESS! THIS IS UNAGREEDABLE! They all give false ideas for young and strong, for the future generations, for our offsprings! And their stylish clothes, creative hairdressing, THEY ALL ARE EVIL!!! Not only that, almost all anime is about meeting some strange creatures from either dream or super technologies land and getting ultimate powers of destruction, be it magic or robots! They RUIN our childrens' dreams, because they show them WHAT IS POSSIBLE WHEN USING MINDS! THIS CRUELITY MUST STOP!

I think that basically everything can fit in Zdoom based ports, if it is done correctly. Just FOLLOW the theme. Do not use Doom actors and textures in an anime based wad. Do not mix graphic styles, unless YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. If you follow that and probably thousand more rules of not-mixing-not-related-things, you are probably fine. Actually there is not many story-written wads (I think that the most notable is Community is Falling 3, which is the best wad I ever played), so I would really love to see a deep one.


Dang, Doom needs more story-wads.

It would be really cool if someone took pencil, took some paper, redrew all Doom decorations using only pencil, redrew all Doom monsters, all Doom weapons, all Doom projectiles and relased this all in one huge sprite replacement mod.

Maps where you are limited to 9 textures and 1 hour for layout and another for detailing.

It would be completely mindblowing if someone would create 3D engine with ACS and used it to create "Ultimate Doom" inside "Doom".
(And with multiplayer as a bonus :cool: )

It would be possible but there are problems

1 - ACS can run only 500 lines before whining about endless loops..
2 - All map data would have to be "directly in the ACS as variables or constants"
3 - 3D rendering would be about drawing pixel, basicly hudmessage.. But if you print alot of hudmessage "ZDoom based ports" drop on FPS
4 - You would have to create picture for each pixel color.. Like doom palete. (or just use dots as pixels and hudmessage color option..)
5 - ACS doesn't have Structs or Classes (That is no issue, just way more work)

A 'realistic' jetpack simulator.
The idea is for control of the jetpack to be challenging, demanding of precision, but all the more rewarding.

- Realistic gravity/weight (increased)
- Tougher fall damage (ie, easier to die instantly from fall impact)
- Slower walking/running speed
- Enough fuel for short flights or bursts. Fuel recharges automatically.
Deathmatch:
- Enough fuel for 10+ seconds of flight. Fuel pickups around the map.
- Faster thrust. Would rely on low-height flight instead of running.
- If shot from behind, jetpack malfunctions or explodes.

I still haven't researched into how a jetpack is piloted, so that'd be crucial.

Thought about and started working on the same damn thing. Mine was just gonna be a simple raycaster like wolfenstein though, using hudmessages to display different length bars across the screen depending on the calculation. I was following a tutorial I used to make a raycaster on a calculator (in ti basic, fuck my life) but I'm not really sure how to make all the mathematical functions, such as - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_value - or fabs in the c library maths. I believe there are functions for trig, cos, sin and tan in ACS, not sure though.

changing of idea, what if we made a mod based on the idea of the movie "The Cabin in the Woods"(i really recommend it), where, in this case, a player is randomly chosen to transform onto a random horror creature, kinda alike a combination of Who Dhun It and Saxton Hale :3

Is there any interest in some mod where the map is different everytime you restart that said map due to a couple of variables.

Variables like: a type of the weather: Is it dark, is there daylight, or day AND night, is the air poison, is there no air at all, is it raining water, is it raining fire, is it raining toxic.... etc?

Variables like: is the surface green, is it like a desert, Is it rock, is there a water flow, river of water, river of lava... etc?

Variables like: Are there monsters around, or are they only appear at night time, only at daytime, appearing on both, no monsters at all... etc?

Variables like: Is the base that you are stationed in, on low power, no power at all, and without power doors are not going to open, so maybe you cant get near the weapons store, no teleport stations?

Variables like: If there is a sun (lightsource) is there a possibility to let that base run on solar energy, a generator working on fossil fuel, or some other chemical possibilities...etc?

Variables like: alternative possibilities to get that base to work, alternative routes to still get into that weapons storage....?

The main basic story about this mod is: You are NOT the hero like Doom marine.
Sure you have heard stories about Doom Marines who are fighting an important battle against hell type monsters.
And sure YOU wanted to be part of that TEAM.....
But... YOU got stationaried on some abbandonned stupid boring base, and you have to stay there for awhile.
The goal of this mod is, to stay alive as long as the timer is on.

In the best case scenario, you have a full working base, turning on all turrets, turning on all shield, so you can sit back in your lazy chair watching all mayhem going on out side on a TV screen, sipping your soda while zapping channels.
And if you want some safe action, you go sit behind a joystick and control 1 of the turrets.
Or if you cant sit still, you go out there with a full arsenal of weapons and kill all monsters all by yourself.

...but in the worse case scenario, you can get overrun by biljons and biljons of bloodthirsty monsters with only your fist as weapons.... :sad:
In that case you have every right to go ragequit and yell that this mod sucks like hell.
