You shouldn't have had to rename them in the old version, but in any case use the old version to load the config and then save it again. This will do a proper cfg to ini conversion. The latest version of Doomseeker has the cfg compatibility code removed so doing that should allow it to load them.

Doomseeker 0.8.1 should be able to do this if I recall correctly, so if you need to download it again it can be found here: http://doomseeker.drdteam.org/download.php

Looked further into and indeed the version string reader was expecting a letter after 1.0 so that's fixed now.

I'm sure this has been asked in this thread already, but I didn't quite understand.

When I try joining a server it tells me that the version is 0.98D, and I should look for updates, etc. In order to solve this, I must disable one of the plugins, but how do I do that?

In the query menu deselect one of the engines/plugins. You can also do this by clicking on the icons at the bottom right.

I don't know if this has been covered already, but ever sense I updated doomseeker from the one that came with Skulltag, Internet explorer has alot of trouble loading web pages while doomseeker is running. Also sometimes I have trouble connecting to servers.

An updated version is released for Windows. This build includes two fixes:

Code: Select all

- Fixed: Version string comparisons regex required every part to be present.
(This is a fix for Zandronum plugin)
- URL wrapper did not consider parenthesis "()" as part of URLs. This resulted
in some wikipedia links working and being highlighted incorrectly in IRC
  module.
Please see the first post for download link.

Now you may use Zandronum plugin to join both Skulltag and Zandronum servers. Go to the configuration (F5), go to "Query → Zandronum" and point the official game path to skulltag.exe. Then enable "testing releases" and select a directory where you would like to store them. Provided that you specified a correct, writeable directory Doomseeker should take care of the rest.

Also, don't forget to disable Skulltag in the "Query" menu.
Doomseeker - a real answer to cross-platform server browser.
Doomseeker dev builds - unofficial Doomseeker builds for Windows.
Gamer's Proxy - a program to emulate ping and packet losses.

Testing releases, I never used that. Should I point that to Zandronum ?

Here's a new build for Windows. This includes a fix to Zandronum's testing binaries support and some minor changes.
Download: doomseeker-0.9_Beta-120807-1903.zip

Changes since last build:

Code: Select all

- Completely redone the dmflags page in "Create Server" dialog for Zandronum plugin.
The current setup is designed to resemble the dmflags setup dialog in Zandronum's built-in
server window, plus it adds support for some flags that aren't present there.
- Changed the default of "bots are not players" to true.
(this change affects only brand new installations of Doomseeker)
- Added 2 new URLs to the Wadseeker's list of default sites and erased the ones
which were already commented out in the past.
- Fixed: +sv_maprotation and +sv_randommaprotation params were not set properly
by Zandronum and Skulltag plugins. In the result map lists set in the
  "Create Server" dialog didn't work.
- Changed help URL to a redirect on the Doomseeker website.
- Fixed: Zandronum plugin did not produce proper URLs for testing binaries.
- Added a bunch of country flags.

Has the Doomseeker team considered an auto update function (if it hasn't been added already) that is optional? (like ZD)

That way dumbasses can have their master servers updated if something happens.

Well master server updating is better handled in other ways. Having the server do redirection during address transitions and updating the DNS if the server goes down. I am considering some kind of auto update mechanism for Mac OS X and Windows though (Ubuntu already has one).

Ideally though the Zandronum installer should be modified to an online installer, which should resolve some of the issues.
