ZBlood mapping.

#1

Post by Danzoa » Thu Sep 17, 2015 1:56 pm

Hello, I'm trying to find some people who would be willing to map for ZBlood, since nowadays we can pretty much create complete replica's of the Blood maps.

I once uploaded a video of an alpha of map01 I was creating located here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKe8UNie2sY.

Sadly enough I lost that progress due to a hard drive crash, and since I didn't touch any mapping tools anymore since that day because of it, I've grown rusty on the mapping field (Especially because that was like my 3rd map ever.

So I wanted to ask if anybody would be willing to help me re-create the ZBlood maps and make them look more accurate to it's original counterpart.

What is with people and hard drive crashes, were in the year 2015 it should be common sense to acquire professional software for backups and use it regularly, applying double safety measures such as the use of Dropbox and other file sharing sites for storage wheir necessary.

It seems like a waste of time to recreate the current roster of maps when they really just need touching up wheir the architecture isn't as accurate, on the contrary if one were serious about this project (ZBlood that is) every episode should be re-created then the slot order should be revised to mirror the original.

It was an old PC, late 2008 that it was bought, I had backup's but they were corrupt for some reason.

I had also uploaded it to mediafire but for some reason my mediafire account was disabled without further explanation, I took the necessary steps but bad luck happened to come around.

And yeah that's what I meant, touch-ups, sorry for wording it wrong most likely, but what I'd want to do with the maps is add 3D floors, polyobjects etc.

Like in the first map, instead of having that collumn come down, it could act as in the original game etc.

EDIT: Also the maps in ZBlood were to cropped. They're too small really they need to widen the area's, Whenever I try so though I screw up heheh.

I see, what a series of unfortunate events! Well I can map but I'm no experienced veteran so I'd be better off making new maps entirely..

A from-scratch ZBlood map pack would actually be pretty neat. IIRC, Mike12 is pretty good mapping with Blood textures, see if he'd be up for a collab.
Reinforcements: midgame Survival joining/respawning
Doom64: Unabsolved: Doom64 + Diablo II
ZandroSkins: a pack made by our community
AeniPuffs: 3D blood and bullet puff effects, free to use for your own mods
Squad Radio: a WASD-based radio chat menu, add your own custom sounds!
Mercenaries (on hold)
