Personally I loved playing the first version of Ghouls vs Humans (I think it's the first, anyway). You know the one, where there was only 4 ghouls?

-Armageddon 2v5 hell yeah, epic maps with epic musics, what's wrong with this formula?
-First ghouls vs humans (i actually played it before ghoul3 and I played it off-line, oh boy, a spam of creepers killing me D:)
-Who Dun It (that tin tin tin music *___* )
-there was also a wad that I cant remember the name, but, there was alot of jump sectors with sonic sound, also some train maps, the pack also the servers Always had a different pack of guns...
-There was also an invasion map that was played by alot of people, I remembe there was a map where you had an elevator with polyobjects :O (skulltag time), plus, there was an invasion spam in many floors.
-And the most memorable, that left 4 dead invasion, ohh, it was really well done, and really hard D:

RE: Your most nostalgic WADs! Come share the nostalgia?
My first blast was with Armageddon 2, i almost played it every day on it's golden age.
Then i met Doom Barracks Zone, well i look to it now and i see a ton of random stuff but the maps are still nice
After it i moved to Alpha & Delta Invasion, same way of Armageddon 2.
My last i think it was Jump Maze when it started, it had nice maps, no scoring system and just fun jumping around epic large maps.

Doom.wad, from when i didn't have any idea what a .wad was, or a file format, or a file, or windows.

Yeah, I absolutely agree. So much great stuff, hard to believe how long it's been, really. I even used to use the Mementi Mori soundtrack for other wads, such as Ethernal as well (awesome wad btw.).Untitled wrote: I'm admittedly too young to actually be very nostalgic about most of this; but I have a few things to chip in:
VANILLA-STYLE WADS:
1. Momento Mori I's soundtrack - despite only being composed of 15 tracks (rather than MM2's full 32), I still love the Momento Mori soundtrack so much - and I still keep it in my midi packs (which I keep in my skins folder so I can switch out midis if I get annoyed at one that's playing in game), along with ROTT's, MM2's, HR2's, and a bunch of others.
2. TNT Evilution - I honestly like it more than I liked Plutonia - maps were more atmospheric, none of the fights were there seemingly for the sole purpose of difficulty, it DIDN'T USE REVENANTS ON EVERY SINGLE MAP EXCEPT MAP11 AND MAP17, and the maps felt like the places they were modeled after. It also was the precedent for extremely large maps - MAP20, MAP21 and MAP27, even if MAP21 was literally hell to navigate. I would love to see a modern take on TNT Evilution, if only because we've already seen two takes on Plutonia - Plutonia 2 and PRCP. Hurry up TNT2!
3. Hell Revealed I - I dunno, a lot of people say that it hasn't aged well which, being over a decade old, makes sense, but for me personally there's a certain "charm" that Hell Revealed I's levels have that Hell Revealed II's levels don't. I mean, most of the maps look like they were made in the 90's, but I can accept that because again, mapset is over a decade old AND it was the first *real* slaughterwad ever made.
4. Scythe I - Objectively speaking, Scythe II is way better - it looks better, fights are much better choreographed, individual levels are a lot more memorable - but I really like Scythe I for some reason - it's an interesting look at what Erik Alm did back in the day, and even if it isn't as polished as his wonderful sequel, I still find it a fantastic mapset in and of itself.
ZDOOM STYLE MODS:
1. Old Skulltag invasion - I don't know about everyone else, but I personally love a good invasion fight or two - even if the old skulltag invasion wasn't great, I still found it a lot of fun.
2. Armageddon2v63 invasion - of course, this completely and utterly blew ST invasion out of the water, for obvious reasons.
Anyway, I think my personal favourite is Legacy of Suffering and UAC Ultra. I can't count how many times I have played those mods and the moment I give them another shot, I am immedietally hooked.
I feel like back in the day, were every day seemed to come with an own amazing wad like those two marked the golden age of Skulltag/Zandronum and to some extend, Doom as a whole.
