I agree, the hostility towards newbs isn't really necessary. You guys trusted SgtMark to give you proper launching instructions and he ended up breaking your Zandronum and making it ONLY run with his mod. He probably knows full well that this is NOT the proper way to launch mods, but 90% of his playerbase are too asstarded to ctrl+click it use terminal or use ZDL so he dumbs it down, and as an added bonus, players who do this can ONLY play his mod and his mod only.

So either Mark changes his instructions (we know he won't) or we make a mandatory message that all new users are forced to see (yes forced) that says "ATTN: IF YOU ARE POSTING BECAUSE ZANDRONUM DOESNT WORK AND YOU HAVE BD IN THE SKINS FOLDER, PLEASE READ THIS: [toned-down version of Jes's post with alllll those thread links of people who ask the exact same thing]".

Either that or muster the patience to keep constantly answering this question indefinitely into the future.

I long ago stopped showing tact to a group of people who have countless times tried to dox, harass and death threaten authors of other mods for not complying to the BD gang's every whim.

When these 'newbs' won't even spend the laughably short 5 seconds trying to connect the dots that are 'MOD' and 'SKINS', and realise that something doesn't add up, then it kind of is.

Mark may be an idiot giving out retarded advice, but that's no excuse for being a complete and utter groupthink drone incapable of doing the slightest bit of critical thinking on one's own.

Jes, please, you aren't really showing your best side right now.
We must also concider that many games have only the option of dumping files into inappropiate folders to play mods. Think of minecraft before modloaders came around, or think of medieval 2: total war, where you have to rename folders to trick the game into loading the mod instead of the game files.
It is only natural that someone would think "This modder tells me this is how it works, it makes no sense, but who am I to judge?". Think about it for a few seconds, a total newb will be completely suspectible to Marks etos in this matter.

Ok gentlemen, Settle the hell down and lets discuss this.

first, Jes you need to put your shit cannons away and check your posting as it appears to be starting a firestorm so big, you are scaring the new guy off. It's really not his fault for any of this.

It is not his fault that Sgt Mark cant zandronum and rather make people do the wrong thing (because he really can not do this) but holy crap these threads do add up over time. Jes is right. We do get countless off people falling for this then ask how to add extra mods. Jes probably should of posted better but his point still stands. Brutal doom is not supposed to be in the skins folder, as it causes issues.

Since these threads seem to make everyone edgy I may consider making a post in the General Help & Support as a sticky to explain why brutal doom in the skins folder will give you a bad time. Now has anyone actually bothered to spam his facebook page to tell him to change the instructions?
