RE: Vote required for development: What is your bandwidth?

Not at it's cap, but it's the best I get during the day.
Here it's peak normally:

Fun fact, I actually only get 375 kb/s via wifi and most likely 700 via Ethernet. Some companies are evil. :(

Hey I found an issue with this poll. Everyone is using a different server! How is this data accurate?

Maybe I dunno, depending on where game servers are hosted (Best-Ever in Montreal, Funcrusher in NJ, etc), I don't see the issue. It's not like all players play on one game server.FateLord wrote: Hey I found an issue with this poll. Everyone is using a different server! How is this data accurate?

Can you be more precise? This thread is based on the determining user's home-based connections by using Speedtest's service which has an abundance of servers around the globe. The only information that is relevant is the end-user's upload and download speed, while everything else is irrelevant (ping, jitter, latency, hops [the ultimate hacking tool!], and etc). Is there some other concern that makes you believe that this thread is pointless?FateLord wrote: Hey I found an issue with this poll. Everyone is using a different server! How is this data accurate?

I never said the thread was pointless. But there are only a select few areas that have servers (Maidenhead, England for UK GV, Montreal, QB, Canada for Best-Ever, Newark, NJ for FC).

That has no bearing over the end-users connection, yet the only complication is the route from one link to another until the data reaches the backbone of the network or route closets. complications can be network floods or massive bottle-neck in a server or a hop in general, but not to omit unreachable routes as well.FateLord wrote: But there are only a select few areas that have servers (Maidenhead, England for UK GV, Montreal, QB, Canada for Best-Ever, Newark, NJ for FC).

Exited for this. I've been waiting for this so long and being able to sustain connection on map39 is damn impressive.
30mb/s down and 5 mb/s up. Blame belgacom.

Does it at all help that mine just got upgraded with a new router and recently installed lines?Dark-Assassin wrote: @Jes: It seems your free internet is better than the standard Australian shit we get.
Granted, it's still not the 50/10 I could get from Stofanet, but hey; it's free Free FREE!
