RE: What's your internet connection like?
Paying the equivalent of 25$ for this in Hungary (price of internet when you also order phone line and television from Telecom, otherwise the net alone would be 32$):

It is a coax cable 50/5 net, mostly consistent service. Downside is when there is power outage in the neighborhood, it is no use to have uniterruptible power supplies in the house because the internet connection is lost anyway. (they don't bother with the same on their end)
Just to show you how much difference there is, the ISP Digi offers 1000/100 optical internet for just 19$ (and a 50/30 for 8$). Being damn out of luck, only Telecom services are available in my area. As such they dictate prices for their aging and slow network.
I am running a home server behind a Mikrotik RB2011 router, and Telecom at least allows using CPEs instead of their installed equipment (but only since a year or so).

I rarely have problems with the connection.

I guess better than ever. Got a newer router+modem after the last pair died, and this pair used to lose ISP connection at random. But then it stopped.

RE: What's your internet connection like?
There is no internet line running to my house, which means I have to use a Wifi dongle. I have a maximum data usage of 10 gigs perm month... I have to watch all youtube videos at 144p, or else I'll use my limit in less than a week.
Torrenting, Xbox live, etc. are all out of the question. I'm lucky online Dooming uses such a small amount of data...
The speed is great but the data cap is just... Ugh, it busts my sack wide open. Oh and because I live in Australia, my ping is usually 300+ for the only game I can play online. Go figure! But hey, many of us grew up with way worse - I just remember the dialup days whenever I'm frustrated by my shitty internet setup and that puts things back in perspective.

Haven't heard of anyone using dialup in this decade lol, any reason for not upgrading to like atleast 1mb or something?

anything faster than dial-up costs more than i can afford. i found a cellular ISP that offers a 768kbps plan. but it's about $75 a month (compared to $21.95 a month with dial-up) and a $200 equipment purchase/installation fee. but on the plus side, it's unlimited data.
