Zand Band: A Music Mod (Chart Creator Updated) (Vote for Genres)

Would be cool to use just the regular Doom and Doom 2 music for songs to play, and then make songs that other people post unlockable.

How would I accomplish making songs unlockable and stay like that when the player quits the game? This would be something cool do insert after Version 1.2

Save Game files store variables and all other information related to scripts (unless I'm mistaken), so the work should already be done for you.

What if the player quits on accident without saving? And if the player saves and I release a new update, the save file won't work.

Why not have autosaves after each song is finished?

That's true. Sadly, as far as I know there isn't much you can do about that.

Also a note to users that requested songs, I'm sorry if your song request didn't make it. This is due because I couldn't find the chart for that song or it was too hard to make: such as "Son of a Gun" requested by The Toxic Avenger.

I have never messed with this in ACS, but if you can write to the users ini file and read from it again, then you can save it. The only problem would be that it would be abusable, so you have to encrypt it and find a way to make sure that one player can not give his "code" to another player.
Just an idea, I hope it will be useful.

I only have one (tiny) gripe, and that is that I seem to be able to just mash all the buttons and pass anyway. Is there some way to get around that, perhaps having an optional feature for a 'strum' button, for a similar experience to the guitar hero/rock band games? By that I mean, if you strum at the wrong time, it takes a point of health.

Either way, I fucking love this.

I see what I can do for that song. I am charting 3 other songs to be announced. To me, it's almost like one of Santana's songs.

As far as my ACS knowledge goes, there's no way I can do that. When I posted this growing project on the Project Ideas Thread, someone already said to try and put in a miss penalty, but in the same response, I couldn't. I'm sorry this is unfortunate.

Thank you so much. I'm doing all I can to chart songs for player to have a great time. From my music taste, to user requested songs, the mod gets mixed genres so it's not all based one one genre.

A while back, I made a WAD file that allows me to make songs easier. Now, I will allow you to use this file to make songs for Zand Band if you would like. Although it isn't that perfect, I have tried my best to create a WAD that makes it easier to make songs.

Next song coming up is Can o' Salt (Ch3 Light World Extended Cut) from the game Super Meat Boy.

I took a break from charting songs since Bohemian Rhapsody really gave me a rough time. But that doesn't mean that I'm finished with charting songs. I'm unsure when I'll make this song available, but what I can promise is that the next couple of songs will focus around video games. Soundtracks can range from Doom, Pokemon, and more. Just know that I am the only one charting songs and I have high school work to deal with every now and then, so every upload will remain the same. 1 song possibly every 2 weeks or less depending how hard the song is to chart.
