anyone want to play doom?

hey I'm a new doom. I've never got to play co op campain, online there are only people doing deathmatch or playing these crazy mods I don't understand. thanks.

There are some servers with classic DooM running. But if you cant find one just make one yourself. Ill be happy to play but its just that the other servers are new experiences(well to me) instead of classic DooM which ive played countless times. So if you wanna play,hit me up and ill join if I can

You could join Zandronums IRC channel if you want to collect people to join you. You can use [BestEver] to host a server of your liking that way you can use mods, or none, that you like with your friends and what not. If you also idle in a server that you find and no one is in it, half the time people will join in on you and make things funner. You can use programs such as IDE(Internet Doom Explorer) or DoomSeeker to find servers easier and use their built in IRC features to chat among people to find players to help you.

What Sykotic said, and the fact that when you play a modern port, expect modern gameplay and servers (Cough Brutal Doom cough). But it's simple to host classic Doom or find a server.

Just play any server but expect it to be singleplayer for +20 minutes, oh I forgot most people you'll get will have no idea about the maps as well :P

hahaha, I play almost exclusively classic coop/survival and it's really not hard to get people to join you. Really. I mean, I like big playerbase, good mouse feel, no goddamn painful blood, convenient flags, it doesn't mean I have to play mods?

The reason I said that, was because 95% of servers I see up and/or being played are always mods, new maps, or just not pure vanilla. 5% actually are classic and being played.

If Nigeria's Internet wasn't so expensive (seriously to get unlimited monthly access it's like 35,000 Naira or ~$219) I'd happily join you. Even just 5g monthly is 7,500 Naira (or ~$47).

so annoying, I cant even host a game online, i even tried bestever and it fails
