Forum Avatar Help Needed
Forum Avatar Help Needed
Who can I talk to about getting my avatar changed? I have been fighting with the system to change it and it is refusing to change it even though my picture meets the requirements.

You sure you got it right? Or it might be the system taking a bit to update it?

I have been using the same URL image that I use everywhere else, and it is below the 149 pixel requirement. I have been fighting with this for 2 weeks now, I click the option to update my avatar after it is loaded and perform the steps it says to do, but nothing happens and no errors come up. Why this forum site is so difficult to get an avatar up is beyond me, and I sure as hell do not know why it would take this place 48 hours to upload it into the system, that is just ridiculous.

150x150 resolution, png, gif, (and jpeg IIRC) are accepted, are you using a different format?

Right after changing your avatar, clear your browser's cache and refresh. Worked for me.

148x118 I think, and it is a PNG format. The avatar requirements here are exactly the same as ZDoom Forums, and I have the same pic uploaded there.Suicide Slim wrote: 150x150 resolution, png, gif, (and jpeg IIRC) are accepted, are you using a different format?
I just tried it again, it was not instant, and I still have the same one. And I did everything you wrote above.

Press f5 when looking at your User CP, you should see it change when you did it right.

It doesn't take it 48 hours to upload it. Read more carefully, it may take up to 48 hours before everyone's cached copy expires and they'll download your new one.
This doesn't mean anything if those users regularly clear their cache. Those who don't will only take anywhere from 2 minutes to 48 hours to see your new one.
For you, all you'll need to do is F5 on a page where your avatar is so your browser re-downloads the NEW copy. Try a couple times. Failing that, clear your cache and then refresh again.
