How about if we tried a basic progression of mods:

1994 mapsets > Dehacked weapons > Dehacked mapsets > early total conversions > Decorate enemies > Decorate weaponsets > ZDoom maps > GZDoom maps > massive game overhauls (class mods, gameplay changes, etc) > modern total conversions > Doom nowadays
The Ranger - New class for HeXen.
ZDoom Wars - I drew some pictures.
Samsara - Some class-based mod I guess?
Metroid: Dreadnought - I am a dumb fanboy.
DemonSteele - ~come with me to anime world~

That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea, but there's a slight problem with that... I think:

There aren't very many good total conversions out that that I know of. (Feel free to prove me wrong on this. I haven't seen a lot of them out there that are released)

Ok, I´ll correct you. Those are 3, which I think, that are cool enough to show:

- Ultimate Super Doom 3 (by Doomero)
- LizzardSquad for GZDoom (by LizzardCommando)
- Hunters Moon (by Revilution)

There was a fourth one around there that was also pretty good, give me some time to search it.
I dont care about how bad your maps are. Everything can be improved.
Banned for cheating at DoomBuilder.

Ah yes, I've heard of two of them. (LizzardSquad, not so much) However, Ultimate Super Doom 3 I don't think is a total conversion last I checked, but rather a weapon replacement.

...Then again, I might be thinking of a lighter version of it, but I'm not entirely sure.

Also, now that I think about it, I don't think any of those those are of the "older" TCs.

but in all seriousness, what about a nightmare run through one of the Iwads, or some other map pack wad anyone else has in mind

I agree with the showing off the wads. I'm not much of an editing professional, but I can record OpenGL Doom gameplay we can use.

I can record openGL pretty easily, but I'm a mediocre video editor at best; perhaps someone else more talented could do it.

I have Sony Vegas 11 on hand for editing. Haven't used it in months and my skills are a bit rusty, but i can definitely crap out a decent video if you want.

Edit: I can only record certain things in OpenGL (ie not wads that have 298340324 sectors of detail, including WDI, GvH, Chillax, KDIZD, etc.), so yeah don't even bother asking me.

its been so long, i never knew that its been 20 years of this awsome game, i remember the first time ive played it around 1998, its still pretty awsome besides the modern fps now and days

Personally, I would love to play some oldschool DM/TeamDM map that day - Dwangos would be my preffered wads. I know how community feels about them, but fuck, celebrating the anniversary with generic new wad won't work for me - regardless how good this wad might be.
