Hey guys, I've been trying to get zandronum to auto execute the brutal doom mod so I don't have to drag and drop any more. On brutal doom's facebook page it says to do this:
"There's also another way to make it work without needing to drag and drop files (in case you are a Linux/Mac user and can't do it). Search your sourceport folder for a file called GZdoom.ini or Zandronum.ini. Open it with notepad, and look for a section named [Doom.AutoExec]. Under it, put the name of a wad/pk3 after "Patch=".
It will look like something like this:
[Doom.AutoExec]
Patch=brutal_v017.pk3"
I SWEAR this doesn't work. Please help!

RE: Auto execute for Zandronum
You could use IDE's or Doomseeker's custom server option and just load up the WADs you wanna use, then just click "Play offline". It always saves the WADs you loaded.

That's true I guess I could do that. Although I noticed when I go to choose the difficulty I can't choose the extra Brutal Doom difficulty's so that kinda sucks, but I guess when the game starts I could just immediately start a new game and change the difficulty.darkstar64 wrote: You could use IDE's or Doomseeker's custom server option and just load up the WADs you wanna use, then just click "Play offline". RE: Auto execute for Zandronum
You have a trailing " on it. Try removing that.
Also, unless a path specified, I believe the AutoExec will only read WADs from the base directory. (But that looks like what you are trying to do)

You can add -skill Anynumber to the custom parameters list to go around the limited dropbox difficutly choice in doomseeker. -Not tested can someone confirm it am not on doom's pc-

I'm not sure which of the two (IDE or Doomseeker) it was, but they also offer an export to script/.bat version, which you can use to have your own costom configs. Mostly useful for hosting dedicated servers, but it also helps with this.
