How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
2003 when Carnevil had created the previous iteration of the forums on the (then) brand new skulltag.com and had come online on Doom Connector to advertise it.

I started playing all the doom ports when I discovered Doom Connector 2 in mid 2002. Haven't shaken loose since...

RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
I'm in the boat with Jwarrier. I spent ~7 years playing Doom 95, before that watched Dad and my older brother playing DOS Doom. I had hunted religiously as a little kid for Doom Online, and Doom Connector showed up, and well, it's been 11 years of online insanityJwarrier wrote: I started playing all the doom ports when I discovered Doom Connector 2 in mid 2002. On a side note, I was pretty dissappointed to find out one day that the Skulltag forums were no more, as that was where every Doomer knew me from. I think I had like 4,000 posts or some shit over there.
Also I love every source port, because Doom is just so damn good that anything affiliated with it is automatically a little bit awesome. I play Legacy with my freinds all the time since I got splitscreen worked out properly.

I know yeah, it's bullshit that. They could have kept all the posts from it or something.doom_kid92 wrote:I'm in the boat with Jwarrier. Dunno, but I played the first version of ghouls vs humans, all out war, armageddon2v5 (when the servers was full), who dun it (when it have only one map), zombie horde (with blood zombies lol and just zm01 .-.).
Hmm I think I started on the first skulltag 97 version, on a pentium 3 1GHz (good times while the power supply worked lol)....
My first doom video was done in february 28, 2009. I think I may started on 2008 or 7

RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
Well, I basically grew up with Doom ^^. My mom played it with me on the lap when I was about 3 years old and with 8/9 I played it as well.
I think with 15 I wanted to set up the computer for her so she could play again. Well, she didn't play but I immedietally started to install and play all vanilla maps on my PC xD. I regularly browse Moddb so I found out about this wad called "EvilStar: Beyond Doom" and it looked so awesome I had to try it. After countless days of figuring out how to launch this with vanilla doom I realized that this requires Skulltag in order to play it xD. This was in August 2009, I don't remember which ST version it was back then.
But I remember my third wad I've ever downloaded...GvH and the countless hours I played it. And how I eventually became the best Jitterskull player in existance :P

Experimenting with Doom ports this month. Came across this and how often it's been used for multiplayer. Totally amazed.
RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
I first found out about it in 2008. I downloaded it but then I realized I needed the original Doom 2 and I was like "I think it was on some CD over here, but where the hell is that CD?" and because I couldn't find my CD in the following 5 minutes, I gave up trying to play Skulltag. Then, I came back after I finally found the CD when I was cleaning up my room, in 2010.

I first discovered ZDaemon around mid-'07 - Tried to download it and my anti-virus said it was a Trojan so, as I wanted to be safe, and didn't know too much about false alarms back then I decided to not run it.
Late that year I discovered DukesterX - Program to run Duke Nukem, by actually typing "Duke Nukem 3D Online" - found a torrent and DL:ed it and was very amazed and shiz that the game was still being played! Got stuck for 2 years, so in mid '09 (I think) I thought... "Hmm what if I type "Doom Online" on Google?"
Bam - Skulltag appeard and been playing it ever since.

Win7 never supported doom so my dad recommended a spurce port. Found zdoom in 2010 and 3 weeks later found skulltag. I have been the fag since.

I first came to skulltag around 2008 but barely played it as I felt zdaemon was a superior competitive port, but nowadays I play all 3 when I can, really don't mind heh

RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
I saw a video of the bfg10k on youtube so it led me to find skulltag.
RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
Was urged to transition to skulltag from ZDaemon, for doom in hexen support
RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
Got an old copy of doom from my old PC somewhere around late 2008, in which I also had ZDoom which I played between 2004-2005, after which it got deleted... I had no idea how to run it on a modern pc (I had original exe) so I ended up playing the exe on XP (anybody who tried it knows how ridiculous that is) So I wanted to find a solution to this via the internet...
First port I played was ZDaemon, at around Jan 2009 mostly CTF in south american servers under the name "Shapeless", since I used Doom connector I also got to try out ST and been here on and off ever since ^ ^

I came to Skulltag like 5 or 6 years ago, was installed on a used computer I bought, and had a bunch of really cool doom mods and stuff in the folder. Been addicted ever since.
RE: How did you come to Skulltag (Zandronum) ??
I found Skulltag when I was in 10th grade so... 2008-2009. I was looking for a way to play special PWADs that Doom 95 wouldn't play (at the time I think it was Super Mario Doom, because I was 16 and didn't have taste), and I've been here ever since.
