Search Popularity of Source Ports

#1

Post by Spottswoode » Sat Dec 29, 2012 3:39 am

Soooooooooooooooo....I got bored at Google Trends and decided to do a comparative chart on the searches of Doom source ports by name.

Not surprisingly, we are all dwarfed by Zdoom.

Haha this is pretty cool, Skulltag and Zdaemon switch positions halfway through, and everything goes down near the end except Zandronum for obvious reasons (Odamex is pretty stagnant).

I am glad Zandro takes over Skulltag succesfully... Such a name/website/everything change was doomed to confuse a lot of people, but it looks like it's going out of it.
Shared keys will now be in Zandro! Thanks devs for their work, and users for the support!

You can change the variables on the page. But since you asked,

Also, why is Doom consistently more popular in Canada?

Hahaha about the doom legacy count in 2004.. I bet 50 of those were by me and my silly friends searching it to download it over and over again just for the splitscreen feature.

Actually Zandro is still haunted by skulltag heh

Edit : Highest searches for skulltag are from finland and zdaemon from UK.. also none for zandro or oda because neither qualify for regional info

Wow, JDoom sure is (was?) popular in russia.

Why did source ports get more interest when Doom 3 was released?

Seems like an appropriate place to post this. Found it on a 'chan a few months ago, and smirked for miles

It may not be entirely accurate but I'm stoked to see this in circulation

Why do you think?!
