Well, I kind of noticed it was a sky, but I'm a giant noob and don't know how to put it together. Right now, I'm just trying to merge SIDE2 and SIDE5 as one big 1024 sky, of course with great difficulty.

it may help if you make the linedefs curved with a bunch of verices. It also helps to make it more realistic.

Just make a giant circular sector and put the sides as the textures SIDE1 - 6.

I wanted to fool you with a silly 21/12 joke but I ran out of time... so... the world still here and we still testing and mapping: the RC will be ready in 24hours, during this time anyone interested in testing the ZCCP may make a post here, write me a PM, or contact me on the irc (leave me there your forum name if it's different from the irc name).
I'll send a pm as it's ready.

I'll send it via PM and in any circumstance to: Frits, HeavenWraith, Nevanos, Qent, thevarian, Vicious Pariah.

I will leave a server up, running the RC everytime my PC will be online.

My map is done! I'd say I'm fairly pleased with it, had to take out some acs stuff I did because it wasn't working too well in multiplayer. There was a known bug in mine that occurred in last testing so hopefully that wont still be there.

I'm a newbie as spriter, since I don't have much time I recolored the Mancubus instead of adding a christmas hat. Its fireballs are recolored too as well as its GLDEFS modified.

Alright mate, after a one year long procrastination I found the will to start working on this again.

First off a short briefing of whatever happened from the day zero, for everyone.
  • Late November 2012: I get the idea of building a 32 maps community megawad christmas themed
  • December 2012: Various people like the idea and decide to partecipate
  • Late December 2012: The wad gets hosted on a SNS (big ups for all the people who supported the project) but turns out to be a fail SNS. The wad is still in pre alpha state.
  • First days of January 2013: I relax and take a break from 4 weeks straight of work on this project. I literally did nothing else than working on this during December 2012!
  • January 2013 - Today: I kept procrastinating over this project.

I've been talking about this project with Aguares during the whole 2013, he was and has always been very willing to help me with a lot of things related to this project; at one point I was about to concede him the leadership and all the power to do of this project what he thought the best for it, but then...
... but then I want the ZCCP to be a community project.
I don't care if the maps the people make are bad: everything can be improved. (sorry for stealing your line Guardsoul :)

You're an author with a lot of potential in my opinion, Agaures, but I couldn't let you turn this project into something that could stand all the most played megawads, but I want to let everyone who want to make a map for this, to do so.

Here I am again so, calling everyone who was here before and all the others that weren't, to complete this mapset.

Let's sum up everything that you, as mapper, want to know:
  • UDMF is the map format we want to use. If you already sent a map in another format you're encouraged to make it in UDMF, this is not strictly required but we would be very happy if you do it.
  • We require a decent mapping ability; this means that the map you send should have a bit of consistency in terms of textures, structure, item placement and balancement. You don't need to use difficulty levels but you're encouraged to use Cooperative items/monsters in order to balance the map out for the Single/Multi Player.
  • The map list is currently a bit messed up; we need to review it and this will be done so that the map's difficulty will increases along with the map number. Reads: No bloodycyberfreakingdemon in map01, and so on.
  • You cannot use custom content unless it's approved by myself. This goes for everything, from textures to weapons and whatnot. Generally, if you're a mapper with experience and even previous experience in community projects or if you've worked in a team of mappers before I think you should be able to understand whether or not you can use a custom texture before having shown it to me (because you know that I will probably approve it), if you don't have this previous experience you're still free to use custom texture before my approval but I warn you that I may forbid its usage.
  • Skulltag's resoruces are EVIL. If you use them Carnevil will appear in your dreams and will steal your soul. Maybe he won't, but you must rip them by yourself. This means that you are forced to extract the textures from skulltag_data.pk3 by yourself and to send me said textures in a .zip file.
  • This is a community project mainly designed for the Cooperative game mode, hence you should try to avoid cramped maps and you should try to build the maps figuring 4-8 people playing on it.
  • This is a new school project: the maps should be playable jumping, crouching and rocketjumping (when you have 200hp you can also rocketjump to the sky if you want, because WE LIKE IT! Ask Cyber if you don't believe me).
  • I encourage the mappers to add minigames in their maps, but don't build mandatory jumpmazes.
  • Music: must be christmas themed. I will listen it and then approve it if it's ok.
  • Other custom content: must be christmas themed.
  • You: must be christmas themed. Go to buy a Santa Claus outfit or something like that, otherwise you're out!
Now, let's talk about times.

You have one week.

I'm kidding, you've one year.

The Last Deadline will be November 25th 2014.

During the course of the 2014 we will test the maps together once a month. Everyone in the mapping team is free to join the testing sessions which will be announced here and on the irc channel (I've been absent from it, I know).

Other stuff you didn't want to know: if someone criticize your work be able to take that criticism positively, even if it hurts. If I will tell you that the map is not good enough to be used I'll leave it out of the first 32 maps but I will insert it as bonus map (so the wad may come out bigger than just 32 maps).

I will send a message to everyone who offered his/her help, I'm sure I forgot something but right now I don't remember what it is, in any case, I will let you know as soon as my two neurons meet again (one went for a stroll 20 minutes ago and ain't came back yet). For any question don't be afraid of asking, here or with via PM or on the irc (#zccp).

PS: If you know someone who would like to make a map and (mostly) knows how to map I encourage you advertise this project.
PPS: EVERY CUSTOM RESOURCE USED MUST BE SENT TO ME ALONG WITH A TEXT FILE STATING ITS ORIGIN. IF IT'S NOT SOMETHING YOU MADE ALL BY YOURSELF YOU MUST PROVIDE ME WITH THE WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION OF THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR. I WON'T ACCEPT ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T COME ALONG WITH AN OFFICIAL AUTHORIZATION.Exceptions can be made for "Before Christ" wads.
PPPS: I know that the resource wad is a bid messed up and that I should clean it but honestly I did my very best job with it back then, if anyone wishes to clean it I encourage you to do so, otherwise I don't think the work is worth those 50kb saved. However, should I find the will to do it I will.

Excuse my absence from this forum but I'd enjoy to give this project another shot. I've learned a decent amount of mapping from the previous year, enough to make at least one map. I haven't bothered with UDMF format at all, but I'll give it a try and see how it is.
