Hexagon Challenge

#1

Post by Strych6 » Sat Nov 03, 2012 10:13 pm

Now, I'm not typically any proponent of flash games, but I think this arcade-style game is definitely worth a checkout. It's simplicity is enticing.

Can you get to the Hexagon stage?
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/602453
How far along, in time, can you get?

The controls seem a tad over-sensitive at first, but trust me. you're going to end up favoring it one way or another if you start going beyond the hexagon stage

christ this is frustrating.

and yes i agree, the controls are way too sensitive and they also feel very delayed.

The over-sensitivity can really make the first few stages difficult (especially if you're used to going faster), because you'll want to jump the gun being ready for the next pattern. As you move beyond pentagon stage, and things get faster, the sensitivity will end up saving your butt most the time

I don't really like comparing talent and success on games like these because, if you noticed, it's just the same pattern but symmetries after a while and it offers you a nice time getting used to it. If anything, it should have the number of tries listed so as to see who got used to it's patterns faster, that's a real talent.

well I've been playing it for an hour or so total soooooo

edit: and you also have to remember you have to stop yourself from misfiring, which is actually a big deal with something like this (one mistake and back to 0:00)

also that pulsing is explicitly made to get your nerves worked up I swear\

edit2: update:

Yes I agree with your points about pulse :P At some certain points it really gets confusing so much that I don't know where the cursor is going :P

You've got a point Ivan, it's pretty vital that you get to know what each shape is first. The first time I played it, becoming hexagon seemed out of the question-but now its probable to occur right off the bat. In a way it stops becoming more difficult down the line and is just a simple question of survival from there

and congrats Ijon, damn! I almost feel obligated to get back there and hone my hexxing >: ]
