Deathmatch to invasion?

Just curious - is there a mod out there that converts deathmatch maps into invasion maps? I imagine it would be a fairly simple thing to pull off (but only if you wanted to give each map a set monster list) - change the weapons and ammo into invasion spots, and do the same for deathmatch spots, changing them into various monster spots.

Haha wow, that's weird. Llewellyn had EXACTLY the same idea. :eek: I don't think there is yet, though.

I still think it's more trouble than it's worth. Even if it works technically, the resulting Invasion maps would at best be kind of bad. You'd also have to weed out the ones that error out because they have no Co-op starts. :cry:

Well that wouldn't be too hard to put in. But I can agree that the maps might now play out too well. After all, they were designed for DM.

Honestly for a good invasion map you need some big open areas to fight the hordes in. A lot of DM maps AFAIK rely on tight areas to keep the PvP action going, and the maps are generally structured in two different ways.

Wasnt there a zdoom competition for making ACS mods? IIRC some guy won buy making invasion working in any doom map.

Ah, yes, you guys are right. Seems I had that all along. :P

While it's great for playing regular single-player maps in the invasion style, unfortunately it doesn't work on deathmatch maps. I don't know how much tweaking it would need in order to work properly on those, but I could give it a shot. I'm a little busy at the moment, however, so that won't be any time soon.
