Zandronum's OPL synth emulator
Hey all, I was wondering, is it possible to get the same emulator for OPL (in a soundfont) that Zandronum uses? I would like to have it for other things, like music players, since it is such an awesome emulator. I have tried multiple sound fonts but none of them are even close to the synthesizer that is in the game by defualt, I have also tried Adplug but it doesn't want to work in any program I use it in either. Thanks, even if you can't help me on this problem

RE: Zandronum's OPL synth emulator
I randomly found a package on the Internet that has a similar OPL Synth style Soundfont.
You can find it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?jnmwnzqnmht
This also includes a few other old style synth soundfonts. They are almost as perfect as the synth itself.

RE: Zandronum's OPL synth emulator
Hi, sorry to bump this thread, but I'm pretty relevant to this. I kid you not, my online nick is indeed Zandro, and has been for about a decade. I have NO relation to the Zandronum project, except that I have independently produced the simulator of the OPL synth (who hasn't? :P) represented in the video and download, and have played a LOT of DOOM of various flavors growing up! Good coincidences like these are hard to come by... like meeting that other Zandro on AEP-EMU working on an MT-32 SF2...
This SoundFont bank was compiled by me, after exhaustive sampling of a real OPL synth on the SB16 ISA, and have a disc of the raw samples in result. However, my bank is NOT the material product used in this game. Zandronum instead emulates the synth by a much more reasonably sized generator based on MAME OPL code. The end result, though a bit different (tube vs transistor to audiophiles), is essentially the same music you'd expect to hear from the actual card.
Thank you for considering my bank, it is about as easy as it gets to hear any MIDI music in glorious FatMan timbre without hardware or programming knowledge.
It had to be done.
