Giving away free Steam games because why not

#1

Post by HexaDoken » Fri Aug 23, 2013 5:06 am

So I randomly got 30$ which I have no idea what I could spend on. After all, I have decided to spend them on Christmas presents. And I don't give a slightest damn that the next Christmas is four months away.

To enter this giveaway, you need to chant an ancient arcane spell which I created about five minutes ago. It reads:

"O great HexaDoken, you are the best gamer in the universe, you are higher than the entire humanity, and I swear to be your loyal servant for the entirety of my life and even more. Glory to the almighty HexaDoken!"

Please note that this spell is particulary fickle and has a tendency to explode in your face should you do even a slightest mistake in it.

After you succesfully chant the spell, you will be magically added to my magic list of participants(albeit with a delay because I'm bad with magic). If more than a day have passed, and you're still not there, your spell is borked.

At some unidentified hour of 30th of August I will take the entire list of participants, and, using the magical power of THE HAT, will determine exactly three winners.

These winners will be able to order any single item on Steam, be it a game, a pack of games, a DLC, or even a game inventory item such as TF2 hat(I'm not going to download the game with sole intention to give you a hat or something and I dunno how to do this without getting the game, so you'll need to guide me).

There are only two rules: the item must be exactly one(game packs count as single items) and it's cost must be less than 10$(you can't order me entire train simulator pack).

Since a winner is limited to only one item, and not all items cost exactly 10$ on Steam, it is very possible that after I finish dealing with the first batch of winners I will have leftover money. In such case, I will take the remainder of the participants list, and use the magic power of THE HAT again to determine one more winner, who will be able to pick a single item with it's cost not exceeding the amount of money I have left or 10$(whichever is higher).

This will go on until the amount of money I have left will be laughably low. This means that even if you won't win initially, you still have a fair chance of recieving SOMETHING at least.

No person will be chosen as a winner twice UNLESS I will run out of participants before I will run out of money. I have no idea which is more likely to happen.

To participate, you need to have a Steam account. You are not required to post it in this topic, nor you need to post the name of the desired item, but you will need to tell me these somehow if you win.

Most reliable mean of contacting me is the PM function of this very forum. Less reliable are Steam: my account name is "hexadoken666"; and Zandronum IRC: I lurk on server irc.zandronum.com under nickname "HexaDoken".

A winner has a week to contact me and receive his gift. If he fails to do so, his win will be discarded.

You may ask questions.

List of those who has sold their soul for my cau- I MEAN participants:
-IdeIdoom
-XCOPY

List of winners so far:
-Oddbrother (delivered succesfully)
-Lollipop (delivered succesfully)
-WhiteAce (was unable to receive gift)
-Wirtualnosc (delivered succesfully)
-Leonard (delivered succesfully)
-Tux (delivered succesfully)
-TerminusEst13 (delivered succesfully)
-Balrog (gift pending)

So I just chant that? Hmm...

O great HexaDoken, you are the best gamer in the universe, you are higher than the entire humanity, and I swear to be your loyal servant for the entirety of my life and even more. Glory to the almighty HexaDoken!

and nothing blew up in my face, phew! there goes my soul, but it is a small price to pay.

EDIT: Also, it shall be Garry's mod.

Sounds good. I'm down with it.

"O great HexaDoken, you are the best gamer in the universe, you are higher than the entire humanity, and I swear to be your loyal servant for the entirety of my life and even more. Glory to the almighty HexaDoken!

If you would be willing to bless your humble servant with a token of appreciation, a small tool of Garry's Mod to assist with my endeavors would be greatly appreciated!"

UHHHHHHH

It apparently costs 16.67$ at me. Which, unfortunately, is about two thirds above the budget. I'm afraid you'll have to choose something else, unless you somehow magically know that the giveaway time will land on a sale which would cut the price in half or so.

If Mon-Musu Quest was a Steam game, I would suggest that, but here you go.

It's a Korean visual novel with sci-fi, cosplay, a harem ending, and some of the most hipster achievement names I've ever seen. If that's not ironic in some way, then we have failed as a species.

If you're thinking of something ironically terrible, there's a bunch of awful games on Steam that have coasted through approval. Bad Rats, Revelations 2012, Orion: Dino Beatdown, some iOS cat game that I can't remember the name of, Ride to Hell...
