This is perhaps, one of the most unique projects created for Doom, consisting of detail, textures, and models that certainly promote realism and an atmospheric look for the game.

WoH I wish I had your level of ingenuity, this is truly a testament to what modding is about. You are one of the few people here that know how to truly utilize the different functions of the engine. Your use of hand made 3-d sprites, your use of brilliantly smooth fog effects. It is all so well done, just utterly brilliant my man.

Hey there! Sorry for the lack of any updates here, I've been working on a few stand alone games on the side.
The latest tech in this is now motion blur! Been wanting to get this in the mod for a long time, but never had time to get around to coding it. All in ACS and a mix of camtextures and 3D planes, many sore eyes trying to get this to work, but finally, 16 pass motion blur without a hefty performance loss!

I'm glad to see this project hasn't hit the dirt, good to see it's still being developed
I noticed you went for the whole Amnesia or as my brother cleverly called it; first person horror (not first person shooter horror) which is honestly my only complaint when I first saw this mod as I do recall you had some nice 3D modeled guns for it. It still is a technologically advanced mod, but I don't know how you'll emulate these things for online play.

There were a few guns made up for different versions of the mod, however the shooter elements were scrapped as they didn't work as well as I hoped, currently the single player is a no weapons zone and focuses on using environmental hazards as weapons. It is possible for this tech to work in multiplayer, however it needs to be further tested in that area :)
Won't work in software mode unfortunately due to the way the camera roll has been implemented (camera looking down at a CamTexture), there may be a separate version that works with software mode later.
Dunno about 3GB, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were over 800MB-1GB, the mods pending compression though so that'll help.Mr.Man wrote: I want this 3 GB sized wonder right now.

Ahoy there! Just boosting this thread with an update, the mods not dead (I know it was meant to be released last year and all :O I know its been in development for almost a decade now... yikes!) but the reason it isn't done yet is because everything that has gone wrong with this mod has.
Its still coming, its just taking a lot longer lately as I've had other obligations which keep getting in the way...
There have been several different versions of the mod, all which have been shot down over the years because they simply weren't fun to play, and I really want this to be something that isn't just all looks and flares and stuff. There have been many locations and assets scrapped because of this, which has resulted in the project been restarted countless times.
Fortunately, the mod seems to be shaping up as expected now, the gameplay has shifted towards an open-world S.T.A.L.K.E.Resk survival horror type game which seems to work much better than expected.
I'll be putting up a video shortly showing the new gameplay elements, also hoping to get a demo out sometime next month for stress-testing, all assets will be free to reuse in your own projects, so will be posting some fun stuff here soon :)

A few more details about this, the mod is an open world RPG/FPS where players must use their wits as their weapon, using hazards in the environment to defend themselves and outrun the enemy. No guns. The mod takes place on a concrete island very similar to Battleship Island. The more familiar you become of the island, the more chances you have of surviving. this only shows how poor the mappers are, no offence, but almost noone who make mods/games using id tech 1 would know how to use 50% of it...
And by the way, people wouldn't make something at that level, normaly people stop your projects when it reach 1 year, it's rare to see a project that is WIP by more than 3 years :S...
And finally, Wad'a'Holic, you did damn good job on it, you're my inspiration, about not give up with my projects, and to always try my best :D

Make something in Zandronum Engine and it will cost you 3 year ...
