That only shows your lack of skill, if you want freelook start your own damn servers with freelook enabled.
Because spamming a BFG takes a lot of skill.

It does take skill to use ANY weapon there is in the game. Skilled people can dodge the bfg properly and make counter play. Same goes for the attacker too, you need to guess which direction the enemy is going to be and aim that way so on so on... Judas is FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE.

Spamming the BFG is a game tactic. It is hated on so much because people like you fail to understand that and fail to learn the tactic itself. Don't be mad at the people who enjoy using it. Instead of trying to ruin the fun, learn how to use it and maybe you'll actually start to, oh I don't know. Enjoy it?

We can duel, you can use bfg and I'll just ssg. :)

Dwango5 Map07 is just a ripoff of another already-awful map. It's flat, boring, and is basically just Shoot with a few more weapons, less health, and cover.
Problem with your comparison is that shoot sucks dog dick. Unlike shoot you aren't spoon-fed an ssg. Unlike shoot you don't get 10 chances to live due to health. Unlike shoot you are required to act upon the different spawns. Unlike shoot you can camp and control the pace of the game. It is not shoot at all. You're an idiot.
Judas23_ mainly consists of BFG Spamming and doesn't have much cover to protect from it. It also feels way too tall and not wide enough for no Freelook, let alone Infinite Thing Height... The only saving grace is to wait to spawn to let the opponent waste their cell ammo while spamming, if that is the case. There are also some protrusions and such that are easy to get stuck on.
Judas was made back in the day when freelook wasn't a core element of gameplay. It sounds like you're not good enough to kill your opponent before he grabs the bfg. There is plenty of cover if you use your brain and it appears your problem of protrusions is a matter of terrible movement.

I've not played xfire and boo will always be in the maybe pile. I agree judas has poor spawns, but shitty spawns are always part of the game.

D5M7 is a popular, good staple in the wad. Many people play it (including me) and it's a popular map in ZDDL, a prestigious duel league. Comparing it to Shoot just shows how much about the map you actually know. In reality, D5M7 is way better than Shoot, and there's a reason why people still play it even though it's old.

Again, Judas is a popular, good staple in the wad. In this ZDDL Demo zip of the final matches between two skilled players, particularly the Judas demo shows only 13 BFG kills. It's true that it is a BFG heavy map but it isn't as heavy as you may think. It shows that you can 'hide' from the BFG and that it's possible to hit from from top to bottom and vice-versa.
QuadrumpusGuy wrote:Boo is extremely linear, like Doom 2 Map01. Getting trapped in the Plasma Gun pit is too easy, as well as the circular area with the staircase, and the teleport isn't very useful, seeing as it is one-way and leads you to a vulnerable spot.
It's true that Boo is a weird map, but I question what you say. I personally have never fallen into the Plasma Gun pit easily and unwillingly. I would go down to get ammo for the BFG or would've spawned there, and despite that fact, there's a Chaingun that makes it possible for you to battle your way out. The teleporter should be used strategically and there is only one dead end, and it's not even a real dead end.
QuadrumpusGuy wrote:The main area in Xfire5 is just too vulnerable, not just the BFG Pit, and even the hallways are. Also, just because Doom2 Map01 had medkits in the exit doesn't make having 6 in the exit okay. It just indicates bad health distribution, considering ALL of the health is in the exit.
I have no idea personally, but a lot of people want it out, so I'll agree here!

FYI it has many more elements to that - speed and maneuverability, vocal direction indication, spawn domination and prediction, etc.
I know some people with excellent aim on shoot who would just die too easily on that map against an experienced player.

On topic: I can't think right now of any maps which I would want removed at the moment, but perhaps looking at serveral recently (2010 and later) maps made by ZDaemon players (namely Titan's remakes of these maps) would possibly be a great addition - there are quite a few of them and I'm sure that you'll find a few maps suitable in your mappack

Why is everyone attacking a guy who never even duels because of his shitty perspective of duel maps? We get it, you like Judas and he doesn't. Keep telling him why it's a "classic". That'll work.

I actually do duel, thank you very much. I just have a different opinion, unless there's something wrong with that. (Some sort of solipsism going on around here?)

Also, this is a submission thread, not a debate forum.

Just list all the maps in order of preference, then pick your 4 least liked ones. Or did I misunderstand the purpose of the question? Is the maplist going to be 4 maps shorter no matter which ones?

Hell, I don't think I even get to dictate it, but as the original poster any Duel32-related chat is fine with me.

Sorry, wasn't sure if it was just the 4 suggestions or not. I think I may have gotten a bit carried away.

Aurora
32in2410 map26
Fae_Duel11 MAP01
Brit10 Map02

I wouldn't really mind if Fae_Duel11 stays, It's a pretty solid map for oldskool duel IMO, but I do think there really other maps that could replace it...

Aurora, it just doesn't have that dueling feel to it... Really it's a little too big for my tastes. Also the weapons seem a tiny bit too spread out, but that's just me.

The 32in2410 map26 and Brit10 Map02, are just a little meh.. I'd actually prefer some of the old duel32-rc2 maps over them (just not FOXTROT or D6M11.)

I was gonna say BOO, but I thought just because I suck at duelist most people. Really it's good map and I think it should stay. It's just a little weird like some said. Also please don't remove SHOOT D: It's a really good map for warming up your aim, movement and such.

Yeah... But still.. Since I'm not a pro mlg elitist duelist or anything, you can go ahead and ignore this post if you like :\

Brit10 Map02, This map is just.. No. It's not really fun to play, and I'd honestly prefer if it was replaced with something else.

DWANGO6 Map01, This map is likewise just pretty awful to play. This might be me, but a full-scale DM map isn't exactly the best choice for a duel map.
It also has pretty non-duel-ish weapon placement, which only makes it worse.

I'd say LAZ1J Map01, but I think that's just because I don't really like the map.

Honestly, Brit10 Map02 is something I'd like to see replaced, generally by the suggestions posted by Legion. Also, I feel as though the UDM3 map is too DM oriented, and just doesn't feel good for duels. But I'm still sticking to my original four, because I'd rather have those four demolished instead of anything else.
