I see you got like some bent metal flooring there, presuming that's a model - how does the player interact with it? Considering bounding boxes.

I do not want to say bad stuff but... this don't really look like doom at all, all that model and HD and stuff makes it look like one of those new games :(
But if that is what you personally like, then keep up the good work, I am just overreacting to these images due to how dissapointed I have been by trying new FPS's :\

Who cares it's not doom, when you see a visual picture which is something between PS2 and PS3. And is made on (modified) engine, engine which was used to play on 20 years ago. If I remember right, Wad'a'holic've been doing this for about 5 years, ever since that "light coming out of cracked wall" on gz engine video. It will be a great success if he manage to finish this.

You can do that with sloping :wink:

Anyway that looks fantastic :smile:

I'm working on some "model and HD" stuff myself, though I just barely got started.
I want to bring good models and hd texturing to deathmatch... so far I just have a doomguy model, maybe 20% complete :lol:

It looks too like it has alot of polygons for it :O

Too bad zan and gzdoom doesn´t support transparent textures on 3D models =/ (like a window on a car).

Transparent textures should work if you have your opacity around 0% or 50% on a PNG texture, not as diverse as a regular texture with transparency.

Just a bounding box at the moment unfortunately, nothing really happens when you walk over it, may try and fake some 3D platforms around it to make it feel like it slopes :biggrin:

It's a good thing I don't need transparent textures (yet). I prefer the visor being opaque, with a "shiny" material (does that work in Zandy though?).

Thats awesome! Keep it up. Unfortunately lighting on models in Zandronum and GZDoom is the bare minimum (unlit). What tool are you using to make the models? I usually throw in a baked Ambient Occlusion pass in Blender which helps the lighting. Looks like your imp may already have it :)

Yeah I know the lighting has to already be baked for the source ports, so I make sure to do it.
I bake normal, diffuse, and "complete" maps in max. The shading usually is too lite though, so what I do is I copy one of the channels from the normal map (they show up as greyscale), whichever shows more detail, then paste that over the diffuse/complete map as a layer in "multiply" style. That tends to do the trick for shading.

Also, here is the Pinky mesh. It looks less like the original than the Imp, but it's how I'm keeping it:

I had to click quote and then find your img tag, and copy that into my brower, because I could not see it :\
Try using imgur instead of imageshack, just as a try.

Yeah, I gave it a snout because I couldn't do the flat face, it kept looking goofy (which seems to happen alot with Pinky models lol).

Excuse the plastic-like shine of the skin, I haven't baked it so it's using the lighting in Sculptris.
So once I bake it it will be more in the style of the Imp, and reveal more of the detail :smile:

Anyhow, I guess I decided I might as well use the models in Zandy as well, hence I keep showing 'em :smile:

hmm working yet on zm09 map, but for now, I found a cool effect, reflexive water on "3D FLOOR"!!!

too bad it didn´t worked 100% but it´s cool :D

On that point, the only thing that ruinds that map for me (besides from being zm, though that do not make the map itself worse) is the annoying ghouls, I just can't see the point of them. Also they remove the whole idea of zm, when ravishing just suddenly spawn on your ass and kills you in less than one second :\ (Many on the servers I play with agree with me on the ghouls)
