Have you updated your graphics card drivers?

That might be your problem. Maybe older drivers will work better with Doom ports.

Hmmm, yeah, that might be the problem. Becouse everything worked fine from WHQL 12.8 to earlier. Might even try downgrading my drivers. Any other fixes besides that?
Right now im using AMD Catalyst 12.9 Beta 9.001 – 7900 MOD.

Yeah I'd be careful of beta drivers. 12.8 and 12.3 were pretty stable I've heard.
I used 12.3 for a while, been using 12.8 since around when it came out and have encountered no problems so far in both old and new games.
GZDoom's OpenGL is a bit touchy with some versions/implementations of OpenGL on various GPUs/drivers anyways, so it's probably best to downgrade to the last stable version.

Nope, still not working. Downgraded to 12.8, still no help. Now im back to drivers I used to have before. Im tellin ya, there is the problem with OpenGL renderer. Whenever I turn that on, game gets messed up.

I've been using 10.8 for years. I was advised to never upgrade drivers unless your current drivers are causing problems. I am not saying that 10.8 is the best version, but I have never had a reason to update them. I run Zandronum with Open GL at 1920 x 1080 on my Radeon 4870 with no problem. On the other hand, I can't get GZDoom to work.

I'm using an old '09 version myself, simply because the last time I tried updating it completely messed up and stopped allowing the Catalyst Control Center from coming up at all now.
The newer CCC drivers do not allow you to disable certain features which are known to cause problems in specific OpenGL games. I had to downgrade for this reason. More specifically, the feature is the Catalyst A.I.
Catalyst A.I. basically "cuts corners" in rendering to try and improve frame speed, but it can cause horrible problems because it is engine specific so game engines that aren't known to the ATi driver developers can have major issues with with this.
The only way to fix this is to downgrade WAYYY down to the version I have or older.

well you could use a non open-GL based doom port, or just use Zandronum's software renderer.

Does the OpenGL renderer work for anybody with an ATI GPU and recent drivers? Or are all ATI users using ancient drivers to play Zandronum in GL?

My drivers aren't exactly 'new' due to the whole 'second card for on-battery use' idiocy my laptop's built with.
..But I haven't had any discernable issues so far, aside from the
pointblank brightness of fog and generally shit performance Ati gets with everything in OpenGL.

After completely uninstalling all of my driver stuff (you have to do this manually to upgrade correctly from older drivers or you really haven't changed anything at all) and upgrading to the new 12.9 beta drivers it seems to work perfectly.
