Why not to use the official pistol sprite?

It needs some detail though.
We all know that Doom pistol is Beretta 92. But Skulltag's pistol sprite is totally NOT Beretta.

AFAIK the first is from ZDoom, so that would be the place to suggest changing it.

Well Zandronum has sort of independant source too, why not just make a new one ?

Why there? Changing a single sprite won't break compatibility or anything.
