Hey Zandronum.
I'm really out of touch with multiplayer Doom at the moment. I was just wondering what are the main weapon mods people are playing at the moment with a realistic/military/swat theme?

Nonsense.
Samsara is a popular class based addon in which you can play with FPS heroes from their respective universes: Doom, Chex, Heretic, Hexen, Wolf3D, Duke3D, Quake, Marathon.
Their is also an unofficial
Extra Heroes expansion which adds an additional 8 heroes bringing the total of choices up to 16: Blake Stone, Blood, Corridor 7, Doom 64, Eradicator, Rise of the Triad, Star Wars Rebel Assault, Strife.
It's a very versatile mod because you can choose to play it with vanilla monsters or with a
Monster Mixer which adds the enemies from every heroes respective universes or the recently popular
Cyantusk's Zandro Monster Randomizer and the sneaky released in secret Untitled's
Hard Doom patch.
Demonsteele is a widely known and popular albeit maybe not necessarily online, in which Anime and Heavy metal combine to bring you hack and slash or shoot or both!

Captain Toenail is a frequent contributor of content to Realm667 and a mapper who makes maps for map packs.
He's cool, imo.

Existed since the days of Skulltag, made the
Dodgeball gamemode mod thingy and the
unofficially cancelled Quake Nexus Aftermath which I'm still waiting for to this day :<

Yes that reminds me, RGA2 is the kind of thing I'm after. Reason is I am making an urban themed TLMS map and was wondering what mods could compliment it.

This was actually pretty cool but it was super laggy online and I'm pretty sure the author abandoned development long ago. It's really fun to play for a while though.
Jes' RGA2 fork is also very balanced compared to Voltlock's original versions and is satisfying to play coop with for an hour or two before maxing out your levels and perks.

Probably complex doom. Though that's mainly for survival, dunno how it fares in DM.

The closest thing to a tactical mod I know of is Lizard Squad, it's fairly old, it's mspaint graphics and not super serious but I'd recommend it anyway (EDIT: I think Combinebobnt made a zand version)

If you're looking for tactical survival stuff, I might as well plug
SUAB, since it's just been updated. Fun stuff, STALKER-ish gunplay, RE-like aesthetic, neat monster lineup.

Earth to Tux, the 12 in 1 RGA2 server regularly sees a daily peak of 10 players.
Name the wads that get more than that and aren't Megaman or Complex.

i play RGA2_testround12 in singleplayer mode alot. but to be honest, i've made my own personal modifcations to the mod to allow the pickup and use of all of the weapons, carrying more ammo and increased magazine (clip) capacity on most weapons. i know that some people consider this cheating. but i don't care.
