Realm 667 May Be Hacked
Realm 667 May Be Hacked
So earlier I decided to get on Realm667 to get some stuff, but when I tried enter it Chrome gave me a message saying:
"The Website Ahead Contains Malware!"
My only guess is that it's been hacked, so obviously I'd avoid entering that website until further notice by a staff member. Luckily, the last time I've seen a website get hacked was the Wirehead Studios website, but when it came back up the admin Phoenix reported the only damages were minimal and fixed within the days. I believe this was the actions of amateurs.
Until the website's back up, let's just hope everything turns out fine. ;)

RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
I always got that warning whenever i go there, too bad for a very good resource site for doom community
RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
Everyone has been getting this warning. Although like an ignoramus, I ignored it and carried on through the site. I have yet to be quarantined.

Indeed. I'm keeping my distance until it's confirmed by an authority.Lord_of_D: wrote:personally, i would preffer to hear it from Tormentor667 D:ucreator wrote: There's seems to be a false alarm

It's probably the way the "snow effect" is added to the website.

I got that alarm many times, it's 100% safe. Never used anything to shield from realm667 and I've never got anything from it.President People wrote:Indeed. RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
The page gets quite a few tiny, invisible, suspicious iframes added when the page loads. This is usually done by malware. These pages are cgi pages that will redirect to Google. The thing is, it's impossible to view the source of those pages.
You can only see the data for those iframes if using something like chrome's "Developer tools" aka "Inspect Element" or something. "View Source" will not show them.
Almost every time I load the page, the data for these iframes are different.
There is no way that I'd call it a false alarm.

RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
So there is a possibility that Realm667 was infected?
RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
I have NoScript plugin and I went there and my antivirus didn't report anything. I also see none of the domains reported here http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diag ... com/&hl=en in the site source. Always have your antivirus on when browsing the Internet.
I PM'ed Tormentor about that.

RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
Hey guys, signed up just to give you a heads up.
I've never had any issues with that website BEFORE, but just now, I hit a random link to the website from a google search and got the warning. Of course I figured those guys would never have malware on their website (why would they?) but surely enough less than a minute after I opened the page I got a bunch of "SECURITY WARNING! MALWARE DETECTED! CLICK THIS LINK TO SCAN YOUR COMPUTER!" obviously fake prompts popping up all over. I rebooted and scanned/deleted a bunch of suspicious shit and now it's fine, but, still. It may not be related of course but the timing is pretty suspicious.
I hope the admins can resolve the problem quickly, it's a shame to lose access to Realm667. Good website that.

RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
Easy, just goto realm667 with a virtual machine ^^ (or maybe phone, if the malware only affect windows)
edit:entered with a virtual machine and finded that mensage:
"Yes, they got our balls again. The Realm667 has been hacked, no idea if there was some bored kid behind it or random bots looking for security holes in our system. At the moment we are looking for the problem and removing the injected code from the site, replacing the issues from older backups etc. It's a damn annoying job - yes - and sometimes I'd like to have a BFG around for those suckers... but anyway, doesn't help, time to continue - stay tuned. "
EDIT2:lol the snow effect, i think it could disapear if it pass one minute that the white block is in your screen (i´m getting slow on virtual machine after 10 minutes D:)

RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
Well, seems it's been hacked, a group of haters maybe, i don't know. What i know is that they are checking the website searching for the injected code, so we have to be pantient.

RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
If you check the site (http://realm667.com/), you will see that they have indeed been hacked and that they might have evil code on it. Be careful, and wait for Tors confirmation.
RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
Well the latest update says it's been fixed. It's a pity anyone would do this to someones good/hard work.

RE: Realm 667 May Be Hacked
As a side note realm667 resources receive a lot of hate from people commenting in /idgames archives, but this doesn't mean that the site got hacked by someone from Doom community. Perhaps it was just an automated bot finding a known exploit on a random server it just happened to stumble upon.one_Two wrote: It's a pity anyone would do this to someones good/hard work.

Tormentor667 Talks about this on this Forum: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-genera ... -realm667/
I Hope it gets fixed soon!
EDIT: you guys might wanna see this: http://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-genera ... -shutdown/
Could this have something to do with it?

I'll bet it's a bunch of Encyclopedia Dramatica 4chan assclowns that came across Tormentor667's entry then started hacking the website while giggling and fapping into a sock. That's just me though. If I really cared I'd hack the Queen of England and impersonate her.
